What a wonderful year I have had. This info graphic will give you an insight into the wonderful and rewarding work that we have been privileged to undertake at Diversity Marketplace, with the support of many incredibly talented associates. From being invited by Rolls Royce as a subject matter expert to participate on a global webinar to promote authenticity and the importance of role modelling vulnerabilities, making it ok not to be ok, to running recruitment and engagement events in Mosques, Gurdwaras and Black churches; from internal benchmark audits to talking about BAME into Leadership to 30 Senior BAME Teachers who are on an Inclusive Leadership Development Programme; from Board Training on Inclusive Leadership to bringing unconscious bias training alive through forum theatre; from designing and running culture surveys to spending an average of 3 days a month facilitating a talent development programme for individuals who have struggled to progress in their organisations, (delegates fall within the following groups gender, BAME, LGBT and Disability); from coaching Head of D&I and Executive D&I champions to supporting clients to ensure that communities are effectively consulted on multi billion pound info-structure projects and supporting 50 D&I professionals assess current and future challenges that employers are facing are likely to face.

Inspiration at the House of Commons
linkedin
November 09, 2015
No, this was not politicians debating the crisis in Yemen. It was the first Yemeni Youth conference to be run at the House of Commons raising awareness of the underachievement of Yemeni Youth in mainstream education in the UK and my first opportunity to organise such an event. The event was also an opportunity to promote the numerous initiatives that are being introduced into the Yemeni communities to help address some of the challenges faced by a community that was one of the first to settle in the UK over 150 years ago, yet have struggled to progress at the same rate of other minority groups. Initiatives such as champion, role model and mentorship programmes, capitalising on the many Yemeni Professionals who have succeeded despite the adversity that has plagued this community for decades and who want to give something back to help raise aspirations and make a difference to those less fortunate than themselves.

Yemen Proud
Gilgamesh
April 01, 2014
An introduction to the rich history of Yemen and its strong relationship with Britain - from the first Yemeni sailors who immigrated to Britain in the 19th century, to the British Crown colony in Aden and right up to the integration of Yemeni communities into British society today. The Yemeni community has been a part of British society since the late 1890's and was one of the first Muslim communities to settle here. British Yemenis have lived here for over 100 years, fighting for Britain in both world wars and contributing to British society in many other ways. This book is a celebration of their achievements.
