Broke journey back from West Wales to avoid Friday night traffic in England. Olde world town, narrow streets and some challenging farm traffic. There is a road to the left just before the hotel with entrance to an adequate car park on right, from which the hotel can be accessed. The rooms are up a couple of flights of narrow stairs and the numbering is a bit confusing. Room was as one would expect of a building of it's age, bed comfortable. Shower was virtually unusable, the control knobs were scarcely functional and I would advise need to be set prior to entry into the bath, due to the very hot hot water supply. Dinner meal was good as was breakfast. There is a very good pub just down the road from the hotel with price of beer reasonable and a friendly publican. If choice here is not to one's liking.
Nice and quaint hotel from 17th century historic building.Great location, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, food was great. Hotel room could do with a little bit more of maintenace. Historic Montgomery castle located 10 minutes walk. Good value for money.
