What a fantastic Zambian welcome at Protea Marriot Hotel. From the lovely Ireen and Natasha at reception who were warm and interested in our adventures each day, to our spotless room cleaned by Forstina to great conversations and service from David, Raymond and Everisto to the plentiful and tasty cuisine provided by a team of excellent chefs …. I could go on and on - just wonderful service from every member of staff we came across!! Best 3 night break in a long time ; wonderful decor and ambience and world class service - you will be more than satisfied if you pick this hotel 10/10 and Zikomo 👏🏾
Review of Protea Livingstone, Zambia We stayed at the Protea Livingstone while attending a wedding, and overall, the staff was outstanding—accommodating, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, with spotless rooms and immaculate public areas. However, a major issue was the air conditioning. It only runs for 18 hours a day, and the schedule varies daily. The AC was weak, keeping the room at an uncomfortable 80 degrees at best. Worse, it shuts off between 8am and 4pm, making it particularly challenging to get ready for the wedding. Given the extreme heat (over 100°F during our stay), I would have chosen a different hotel had I known this in advance. As a loyal Marriott customer, this was disappointing, and I would recommend considering other options if reliable 24-hour AC is a priority for your stay.

Stay at Fairmount hotel was like staying at home, the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The experience was overall excellent - Euphrasia called to check about the airport pick up, Dawney ensured that there was internet by providing me with a mobile router. Ms. Anita and Ms. Subhasini the GM of the hotel ensured a comfortable stay. The highlight of my stay was the Indian food that i took every day - Kadai Chicken and Mutton Rogah Josh with Garlic naan and Tandoori roti were excellently prepared by well trained chef. Thank you everyone for making my stay very comfortable and memorable.

We stayed in the fairmont hotel for 2 nights. We were made to feel very welcome. The staff go above and beyond for their guests. The food was exceptionally nice and the rooms had everything we needed. They helped us with an airport issue we had and we really appreciate this . Thank you once again fairmont and we hope to see you again

A truly marvellous hotel in one of the most mystical places we have ever seen. The entire colonial-style hotel complex is an African dream. You can see directly onto the Zambezi from the beautiful rooms. The food - whether breakfast, lunch or dinner - was excellent. A real luxury hotel that is absolutely worth the price. The service staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our absolute favourite was Edward, the hotel's concierge: not only a helpful, extremely friendly and humorous man, but also simply a great person who told us a lot about the Zambezi way of life and demonstrated genuine hospitality. For his sake alone, we would stay at the Royal Livingstone Hotel again at any time.From$637

A few days before Christmas, I stayed here with my husband for two nights. The environment is first-rate, and the service is generally worse than Southeast Asia and slightly worse than the equivalent hotels in African countries. When I left the house in the morning, a cleaning sign was hung up. I returned to the house more than three in the afternoon and did n’t clean it. I did n’t clean it until I went back at night. Breakfast was okay, the British and American breakfasts were similar. It was ok, but there was no freshly squeezed juice, and the beverage felt like concentrated juice and water. Turned up turn-down service at night, and a small snack was good. The environment is particularly good. There are monkeys in the yard. They are not as fierce as those in China. They are not strong and do not actively attack people. The perimeter of the hotel is the safari park. After eating Chinese food with my husband for the first night, I went back to the hotel and saw a wild boar about 30 meters away from the hotel entrance. The big window facing the river in the room facing the river is very quiet. It is very comfortable to open the window in the morning and watch the river view lying on the bed. The quilt is a duvet, but the sheet cover is not soft and comfortable enough, which may be a common problem in African countries. Overall it is worth living.From$175

Myself and my wife stayed here for 3 days/2nights The manager was very accessible and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Place is very clean with good temperature water though pressure isn't very high. Location is somewhat off-road but overall quite close to town and the falls. Breakfast is provided and we enjoyed our breakfast every morning. We didn't make use of the pool, and i don't think at that point it was well maintained. We travelled there November/December 2020 at which time, tourism was heavily down due to COVID. Unfortunately, if you need wifi, this was a challenge for us at the time we were there. I would recommend statying here as it is a quite, peaceful and safe place. Bed is comfy and nice though facilities are generally average. There is AC that works. Ours was making a lot of noise though so we tried not to have it on all night but used to keep room very cool then go to bed. For the price you pay, this is a good place to stay though our budget, travelling from UK, may be different to locals.From$38
