I can't understand how anybody would fault this hotel. It is a 100% five star experience. I was worried to read some revies that rooms were dated but this is untrue. The decor of the rooms is very classic with carpets and medium dark wood furniture, but in pristine condition as this hotel has been reburnished. Not a scuff mark to be seen anywhere. We had a superior room on the 4th floor which was pure luxury. Really large and bright with big windows and patio door to balcony and a gorgeous view. A large bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower and a large storage, dressing room area at the entrance with its own full length mirror. Complimentary chocolates were sent up on arrival, a lovely touch as we were celebrating my birthday. The staff at this hotel are exceptional, especially at reception and in the dining room. They are extremely courteous, professional and nothing is too much trouble. The food is also top class, we had breakfast and dinner. My only quibble would be the decor of the dining room but that's a personal thing. In a five star hotel I would prefer more traditional with elaborate napery and table ware and a smaller dining room, or one more partitioned for a cosier, more intimate feel. Here the decor is very ultra modern. It is huge and open plan with very modern table placements which I would find just a little cold. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful Gap of Dunloe which is breathtaking and we were lucky to get a window table at breakfast. But far from the window or after dark you don't have that experience. But overall this hotel is just fabulous, I'd highly recommend it and go back in a heartbeat. Roll on the next birthday!

Stayed on 3 nights b&b package with 2 evening meals. Hotel contacted us in advance to book times in restaurant for breakfasts and dinner. We booked breakfast for 10am each morning and dinners at 7.30pm. While breakfast times were adhered to by hotel, fried food, except eggs, was dried up and cold. We did not get to eat in restaurant for dinners. Could only get table in bar both nights. Menu was the exact same each night. My wife is a vegetarian with allergies to onions an red peppers. Very poor vegetarian options. We asked even if chef could do vegetarian stir fry with root vegetables that would suit and were available as they were on meat menus, it was very disappointing that such a simple request couldn't be facilitated. The hotel is very nice but the food standard and menus are very poor given that we paid close on €700 for the 3 night stay as well as spending close on an additional €150 for beverages and sea **** bath. Very disappointed overall

The hotel courtyard is beautiful, the room facilities are a bit old-fashioned, the breakfast is particularly good, semi-buffet plus ordering, whether it is half-buffet or semi-buffet is first-class English breakfast, the service industry is quite good.

Absolutely loved our stay in the Killarney Royal Hotel. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the state rooms and it was amazing, very stylish, clean and comfortable, with a lovely Christmas tree to add to the festive weekend away. The staff had added some personal touches to our room, as it was our anniversary and a beautiful handwritten card from the manager. Unfortunately, my husband was unwell during our stay, but the bar manager and chef, went above and beyond to cater for him. I would highly recommend the Killarney Royal Hotel to anyone wanting a luxury stay away, this is an ideal place to get away from it all.

Excellent for visiting Killarney and surrounding area. 20 minute brisk walk into town. On main road which was noisy from the balcony rooms so bear in mind if you want more peace go around the back. A relaxed and friendly hotel.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel, the staff wenr above and beyond for us! Special shout out to dominik who served us our drinks on the roof terrace and got a little celebration cakes for birthdays & wedding celebrations later this year 😊 will definitely be back

This hotel has not only stood the test of time it has kept heritage and service at its heart. Beautifully preserved decor with warmth of service and excellent food. It was bustling with family celebrations, couples having coffee and the air of hospitality crowned it all. People enjoying what they do.
