This is a solid choice if you need to be in this part of greater Philadelphia. We were there for a sport climbing competition in next door Bridgeport (3 mi away), and this fit the bill. It's been renovated, and the lobby and bar are stunning. The bar service was very good. We also had dinner there the second night and all enjoyed our meals. Our room was clean, comfortable, and generally working order. I applaud the property for using large pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap instead of single use plastic bottles, which are so awful environmentally. However, it looks like they hot glued the bottles to the shower wall, and housekeeping must have knocked one off, because one was just standing in the shower. This was not a problem for use, though! I also applaud that daily housekeeping is optional. We would have not called for it, except my son had sweats the first night, so we wanted fresh sheets for him. I messaged the hotel through the Hilton Honors app and the manager responded immediately, which was impressive. The only glitch was that when I requested housekeeping, I specifically asked for the conditioner in the shower to be refilled as well (it was empty) and they neglected to do that. But housekeeping did come. We were pleased to find our room had a small refrigerator, which was great for storing snacks for the competition, and boxed leftovers from dinner. Front desk staff was super nice and efficient when we checked in. Ample parking. Lots of restaurants close by. Not a great area for walking - we did walk to a restaurant for dinner the first night, but lots of busy streets, malls, not great sidewalks, etc. The area is not designed with pedestrians in mind, but that's not the hotel's fault.

Several issues came up during this stay which disappointed me with the Doubletree brand. First: Upon check-in, no cookies. They told me to come back in a couple of hours. Came back, no cookies! Finally got them the next day. Second: Got to my room, had to use the bathroom. After lifting the toilet seat, it was obvious that housekeeping never bothered to clean here. It was covered with urine stains and very disgusting. I ended up using a lot of toilet paper to clean this myself. Third: Using my iPad to watch Thur night football on prime, around 10:30pm, I lost my Wifi. The next morning, no Wifi. It was down and was not restored until Friday afternoon. I did bring this up to management and to their credit, they addressed this with me directly. I appreciated what they did and the fact that they did address this. Fourth: their little market place, where you could buy a cup of coffee, get snack, etc, closes at noon. Not very convenient. I did have breakfast in their restaurant. This was the first Doubletree I have eaten breakfast in that did not offer a breakfast buffet. The restaurant was closed in the evening, you had to have/order dinner from the bar. The room itself was nice so no complaints there other than not being thoroughly cleaned by housekeeping. Hotel is within minutes of the mall and several places to eat. Overall, not sure if I would stay at this property again. There are other Hilton brand hotels nearby and I'd be more inclined to give one of those a try.
