The worst stay I had. I went with my 2 kids and I’m 28 weeks pregnant. I had got a confirmation email on 3rd November confirming my booking. When I messaged them on 9th asking the location when I was on the way to the area they said they had not confirmed me and the lady who sent me the confirmation was no longer working there. When I reached the apartment the water in the sink was block, no drainage. The electricity in the room was not working. It took ages for hot water to come in. The fridge didn’t close properly so nothing stayed cold. And the fan was broken so it was hot and uncomfortable in the room. There was mosquitos in the room. My 5yr old and 2yr were so unconformable throughout the night. When I sent them videos and pictures of all of these things and informed them on the first night itself regarding all of this they just thanked me for them. I asked them for some kind of compensation or to shift me they completely refused until 2 staff members came and one of them threatened me that the security will not open the gate if I don’t make the full payment. I would never stay with them again. I had initially stayed with them in July and a woman called Cynthia helped me and was SUPER. Her hosting skills and welcoming was amazing and that’s why I came again. It’s a shame she doesn’t work for them anymore because the staff now are rude and and def not accommodating.

The house is situated in a quiet and safe area, which is only accessible through a gate with guards. It has a big garden with seating areas where you can relax. Beds have mosquito nets. Our bathroom, in the main building was not fancy / renewed, but was OK. All was SUPER CLEAN! Vasant was our host, who is a great guy. He was kind, smiling and welcoming even when we arrived at 4 am! He really did everything to make us feel good. He prepared delicious breakfast with pancakes, eggs and various fruits. Breakfast was excellent and a lot! Vasant even gave us his phone number if we would need it in the downtown. He was very helpful and extremely friendly during the whole stay. Unfortunately there is no dinner option in the house, but we ordered food with Uber Eat. Airport pick up was organized by the B&B. We travelled with Samuel, who was always in time and transported us back and forth in the 4 days. We spent 3 nights at Edaala and it was truly a marvelous experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

This was advertised as a 3 bedroom apartment. But it was a room inside a 3 bedroom apartment which came with its own bathroom. (Which I thought was false advertising)The shared living room was beautiful and spacious as well as the kitchen. The staff was nice and helpful. There was some initial disagreement about if I had paid for breakfast or not and I shared a screen shot on my side then they came over and prepared breakfast. The staff was nice and friendly.

Apart from the large room, the other rooms are very old and dirty. Many facilities in the bathroom are broken and the sanitary condition is also worrying. When I walked through the fourth floor, I saw spider webs on the wake-up glass above the door of a room, which made me get goose bumps. But I told the front desk, I went to see it after an hour, and it was processed. The price is twice as expensive as the same room in the surrounding area (I moved to another apartment area 500 meters away the next day, half the price, about the same size, much newer than it). A house next door is under construction, so this apartment is full of noise and dust. The big yellow stain on the pillow is a bit scary, but fortunately there are several pillows. The black girl at the front desk was very enthusiastic and changed me to a better room, hoping that I would not leave. The newly-changed room is indeed much better, but the whole apartment is like that, worn out and stained. But the angry mother is really good, thank her.

I like this place so much. It’s a family-style room with complete facilities. All kitchen utensils are available. You can cook your own meals. The service attitude is good. The security guards are very good. The price is quite affordable. It’s very close to the airport and train station. Take a taxi. It is also very cheap to use taxi apps to go to the city, so it is a good choice if you want to spend a few more days in Nairobi or as a transition. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos and videos.

The place is easily accessible from Langata,town or by pass. It has a parking space and there is a pub. Due to lock down in the country. The pub and kitchen are closed by 8pm. Its price friendly. The room is run down, the toilet had cracks, there was no hot water for showering, the mosquito net was in tatters, the bathroom wasn't clean, the bed would squeak. It needs a lot of renovation.

Khweza is a great budget hotel in Nairobi's city center. Staff are super friendly and helpful. One staff even used their own Mpesa to get us train tickets since we didn't have access. Really great. The rooftop is wonderful & a huge selling point. Bed and shower was good. Everything was clean. Food was okay, took a bit long to serve even when you order breakfast the night before. Lobby is welcoming. We stayed for six days and went on a 3-day safari, day trips, etc. and all our stuff stayed safe. Had we slept there the whole time, we probably would have switched rooms from the front to the back, as the front rooms are a bit loud at night with trucks going by. But otherwise, very good. We'd go back if we were again looking for a clean, friendly budget stay in Nairobi.

The worst stay I had. I went with my 2 kids and I’m 28 weeks pregnant. I had got a confirmation email on 3rd November confirming my booking. When I messaged them on 9th asking the location when I was on the way to the area they said they had not confirmed me and the lady who sent me the confirmation was no longer working there. When I reached the apartment the water in the sink was block, no drainage. The electricity in the room was not working. It took ages for hot water to come in. The fridge didn’t close properly so nothing stayed cold. And the fan was broken so it was hot and uncomfortable in the room. There was mosquitos in the room. My 5yr old and 2yr were so unconformable throughout the night. When I sent them videos and pictures of all of these things and informed them on the first night itself regarding all of this they just thanked me for them. I asked them for some kind of compensation or to shift me they completely refused until 2 staff members came and one of them threatened me that the security will not open the gate if I don’t make the full payment. I would never stay with them again. I had initially stayed with them in July and a woman called Cynthia helped me and was SUPER. Her hosting skills and welcoming was amazing and that’s why I came again. It’s a shame she doesn’t work for them anymore because the staff now are rude and and def not accommodating.

I've visited Margarita House five times now, each time travelling for work in Ngong. The staff are wonderful; Gladys, Natasha and the rest of the team are all lovely people and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. The rooms are quite basic, but spacious. The rooms with a balcony in the main building, looking over the main courtyard, are the best. There is a small pool and gym, and the gardens are relaxing. If you're interested in wildlife, you'll see visiting birds and monkeys. WiFi is about the best you'll get in Kenya, and when it went 'down' one time in all my travels, the team quickly made sure a 3G/4G router was available to reconnect us. I once travelled during a period of uncertainty (elections) and the 24/7 security made me feel very safe. The hotel can be contacted directly to organise transport from the airport (which typically takes 45 minutes). I strongly advise this option if you haven't visited Nairobi before; they will wait patiently for you even if your flight is delayed. Food choice was reasonable, as were portion sizes - and you can choose to eat at the pool, in the restaurant or even in your room. I'd like to see more dessert options! The welcome drink on arrival is always gratefully received after a long flight. I've stayed in the 5* hotels near the airport before, but I prefer being in Karen, in the quiet, with excellent customer service and chilled (Kenyan!) vibe. I may not be back in Kenya for a long while, so best wishes to all the wonderful team who have looked after me over the last two years - Stefan.
