FAQs about fun places for kids in USA

  • When is the best time to visit the USA with your family?

You can travel to the USA at any time of year, as every season offers something special. Although some national parks close over winter, Hawaii and southern Florida are generally warm year-round. Generally, the best time to visit the north is between May and June, while the south is at its most hospitable in Spring (March-May), or Fall (September-November).

  • Is it easy to get around?

The USA has to be one of the best places in the world to take a road trip. Signs are in English and roads are generally in good condition, while the views in some places will simply take your breath away. Be sure to plan your trip with plenty of rest stops, to stop the little ones from getting bored.

  • What about the food?

If there's one thing that America does better than anywhere else, it's the food. There's more to American cuisine than just burgers (although these can be truly awesome too). You'll find dishes to suit even the fussiest of little eaters out here, covering everything from fresh seafood on the coast, to Cajun dishes and jambalayas in the Deep South, Spanish and Mexican cuisine in the southwest and hearty steaks nationwide. Wherever you dine, expect generous portions and service with a smile.

  • What are the current COVID-19 regulations for visiting the USA?

Starting from December 6, 2021, air travelers aged two and older, regardless of nationality or vaccination status, are required to show documentation of a negative viral test result taken within 24 hours of the flight's departure to the USA. This must be presented and approved before boarding. If you or a member of your family recently recovered from COVID-19, you will need a document that proves you've been given the all-clear (like your latest test result, or a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you are cleared to travel). Children under 18 years of age do not need to provide proof of vaccination, but adults do.

  • What are the screening and security measures in place for entry to the USA?

To ensure your security, all travelers are required to undergo screening before they can enter the USA. However, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has updated its screening procedures for children who appear to be 12 years old and younger, to make the process a little less intimidating for the little ones.

  • What about children who are differently abled?

If your child has a disability or a medical condition, you can inform the TSA officer. Let them know if your child is unable to walk through the metal detector or needs to be carried through by a parent/guardian. The TSA officer will not remove your child from his/her mobility aid, wheelchair, or scooter.

  • Can I take breast milk and/or formula through airport screening?

So long as they're not in large quantities, formula, breast milk and juice for infants or toddlers are allowed to pass through the security checkpoint. But you will need to remove these items from your carry-on bag, so they can be screened separately.
