Reviews from Real Guests:
Dhruv002: The Red Fort is a historic fort in the city of Delhi (in Old Delhi) in India that served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperors. Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned construction of the Red Fort on 12 May 1638, when he decided to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi. Originally red and white, its design is credited to architect Ustad Ahmad Lahori, who also constructed the Taj Mahal. It was constructed between May 1639 and April 1648. On 15 August 1947, the first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, raised the Indian national flag above the Lahori Gate. Every year on India's Independence Day (15 August), the prime minister hoists the Indian tricolour flag at the fort's main gate and delivers a nationally broadcast speech from its ramparts.

The tower body is made of red and white marble, and the tower is 73 meters high, gradually tapering from bottom to top. The first three floors are made of red sandstone, and the fourth and fifth floors are made of marble and sandstone. The interior of the tower has beautiful murals and calligraphy works, engraved with verses selected from the Koran, which is a testimony to the development and growth of Islam in India. After centuries of wind and rain, the tower has already tilted to a certain extent. The site area also includes ancient tombs, Islamic university, Islamic power mosque, famous iron pillars and the Areminar tower, which were damaged to varying degrees by the earthquake. It is more suitable to visit the ancient pagoda in the afternoon, when the light is very good for taking pictures. There are parrots flying over the tower from time to time, squirrels and pigeons slowly pacing in the square of the site, and the locals sit on the grass to take a nap. There is also a cultural festival held here from November to December every year, when you will have the opportunity to see live performances by Indian artists.
