Playing the Strings of the Qambus 🎼 and Oud Yemeni artist Adham Mansour didn’t just excel at playing the piano but also mastered the strings of the Qambus and Oud. At the Yemeni House of Music, he trained and mentored many amateurs, nurturing their skills in this unique art. Leila Al Ruaa was more than an event—it was a breathtaking fusion of Yemeni and Omani artistic talent, and we at Omani Archive were proud to be part of it! This remarkable showcase brought together filmmakers, artists, and creatives from across the region, thanks to the collaborative magic of Studio 22 , Omani Archive, OAAS, Oman FM , Al Yamaniah , and Yemen Art Base. The art exhibition was equally spectacular, spotlighting incredible talent from near and far. Some artists traveled from abroad, while others highlighted the vibrant local creative scene. When we talk about calligraphy, the beauty of Arabic script, and traditional art, we always remember the talented artist Shaimaa Al-Jarmouzi. Shaimaa won third place in the Al-Raqa’a calligraphy competition organized by the group How I Make Myself Letters in 2020, and she also won second place in the Diwani calligraphy competition held by the same group in 2021. Her achievements have made her a true icon in Arabic calligraphy. Ali Al-Sunidar is a unique and brilliant Yemeni star in the field of photography. He has won numerous awards, including Best Global Impact Photo 2018, first place in the Arab Traveler Competition, and first place in the 2019 Middle East Institute in Washington competition. Recently, he took first place in the Youth Photography Competition on the Quality of Life in Cities, held in Egypt, competing against photographers from 120 countries.
