GCEO Roadshow makes stops at the Meyerton and Kliprivier Mills Barloworld Limited Group CEO, Dominic Sewela visited Ingrain’s Meyerton and Kliprivier mills on Friday 25 October. The last GCEO roadshow was three months ago and this visit afforded him the opportunity to gauge how things have progressed at these two sites in the ensuing period. He was accompanied by Consumer Industries CEO, Chris Wierenga, as well as members of the executive team. Meyerton Mill was the first stop and the delegation spent the morning at the facility viewing the lab, effluent plant and boiler house. They also got to engage with the management team at the mill on progress in terms of the CAPEX which needs to be deployed as well as future returns. The afternoon was spent at Kliprivier Mill where our Group CEO also got to visit key areas at the facility including the lab, engineering workshop, upgraded kitchen and the effluent tank where work was recently completed. The tour also made a stop to view the maize sampling process at the mill and to get a sense of the old process in relation to a new capital projects initiative which is being introduced.    The consensus from our Group CEO at the end of both visits, is that the progress made at both Kliprivier and Meyerton in the last three months is commendable. He congratulated Chris Wierenga and the management teams at the two mills on their dedication and motivation as they have actively demonstrated their commitment to moving the business forward and achieving Ingrain’s strategic goals in 2025 and beyond.

  • Barloworld GCEO Roadshow wraps up at the Ingrain Bellville Mill   Barloworld Limited Group CEO, Dominic Sewela concluded his GCEO Roadshow of Ingrain’s facilities yesterday with a visit to the Bellville Mill. As with his other stops on the roadshow, he did a thorough tour of the facility and engaged in lengthy discussions with the mill staff and management. They discussed ways in which people can work smarter, not harder, with staff having the opportunity to proffer ideas.   Dominic Sewela emphasised the collective responsibility that employees have to make the business a success and the workplace better, not just in terms of physical, but also psychological safety. He said that hearing about the changes that have been made at the mill was one thing, but seeing them in action was powerful. He commended employees and management on the culture shift brought about by the Barloworld Business System (BBS), which demonstrated how staff have embraced the concept of continuous improvement and the positive impact this has had on production efficiency and ultimately, customer service. Well done to the team at Bellville Mill for ensuring the GCEO Roadshow ended on a high note!
