2024 was a milestone year for the Dell Young Leaders program! This year, we:  ➡️ Welcomed 300+ new Dell Young Leaders to the program.  ➡️ Supported 1,000+ active students through career readiness initiatives. A few highlights from the year:  ✨ Leadership Symposium: Students explored “curiosity resilience” as a career tool and the role of AI in their career readiness journey.   ✨ Final Year Bootcamp: Students participated in a hands-on recruitment simulation offering hiring insights and the opportunity to step into the shoes of a recruiter.   ✨ Community Cook: Students cooked up a storm, emphasising teamwork, budgeting, and nutritional tips for their mental and physical well-being. From a placement perspective:  ➡️ 98% of our 2023 graduates secured employment or transitioned into career enhancing further study within just 3 months of graduation. This impact would not have been possible without the incredible support of our partners - thank you for sharing in the success of our students! As we look forward to 2025, we will be preparing our largest graduating class yet - 300+ students - for the world of work.  I’m excited for the relationships we’ll build, the impact we’ll make together, and the lives we’ll help transform in the year ahead. The Dell Young Leaders program is shaping the next generation of South African leaders through initiatives like the Annual Leadership Symposium. First-generation students explored how curiosity can drive career success, learning valuable skills like crafting elevator pitches and handling interviews. “I left with a fresh perspective, realizing curiosity fuels growth,” said one student. Since 2010, the Dell Young Leaders program has empowered over 2,000 South African university students on their journey toward graduation and career success.   Program alum Ndivhuwo Maphangule leveraged her finance degree to pursue a successful career in retail. Bonnievale 418 is transforming a small town in South Africa’s Western Cape with a bold vision, ZERO unemployment among young people in their community.     At the heart of its mission is Jakes Gerwel Technical High School, empowering students with skills tailored to local job opportunities.    The school’s curriculum equips students with practical skills in:   🧬 Engineering  🌳 Agriculture  🏛 Architecture  🔥 Welding   🪠 Plumbing    Bonnievale 418’s impact is even growing beyond Bonnievale, with graduates contributing to the construction of similar institutions in the Westen Cape.  

On this International Literacy Day, we’re celebrating the work of some of our partners – Springboard Collaborative, Click Learning, and LiftEd managed by British Asian Trust – and their dedication to promoting children’s literacy worldwide.
