  • First Car Rental is a proud stakeholder in South Africa's vibrant tourism and travel industry, we want to express our unwavering support and sincere appreciation for our partners - FlySafair. This alliance has not only been a cornerstone of our operational success but has also significantly contributed to the broader South African traveling community and the national economy. From the outset, this partnership was founded on a shared vision of providing exceptional service and value to our customers, making travel within South Africa more accessible and affordable. Together, we have succeeded in creating seamless travel experiences that combine the best of air and ground transportation, setting new standards in the industry. The constructive collaboration between First Car Rental and FlySafair has been instrumental in providing seamless, efficient, and affordable travel solutions to countless individuals across our nation. By bridging the gap between air and road travel, this partnership has enhanced accessibility to remote regions, thereby promoting tourism diversity and enriching the South African travel experience. Moreover, the collaboration has been a beacon of employment stability and growth. Both companies collectively employ thousands of South Africans, offering not just jobs but careers that support families and stimulate local economies. The positive ripple effects of this employment cannot be overstated, especially in a time when job creation is more critical than ever. For a number of months during the Covid pandemic FlySafair kept flying whilst nobody else would, showcasing their loyalty to the South African public. We are starting to see more responsible journalism in stating that the current compliance "issue" only affects the international routes, but we all need to band with Flysafair and not create panic and withhold bookings (internationally or domestically) as a result - this is the only airline that stands by what is says, and you can be rest assured that FlySafair will honour their commitments. #FlySafair #BestLowCostAirline #Loyalty

Happy Heritage Day!

  • We at First Car Rental are thankful to have supported this year's CHOC Children's Sani Pass Walk, an event dedicated to aiding children and teenagers battling cancer or life-threatening blood disorders, along with their families. Held on the 5th of August 2024, the walk is a challenging and rewarding annual hike up South Africa’s iconic Sani Pass. Sani Pass, often referred to as ‘the mother of all South African passes’, is a challenging 8km ascent and descent, totaling 16km of rugged terrain. CHOC is a non-profit organisation that advocates for the health and well-being of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life-threatening blood disorders and their families. The passionate and dedicated staff and volunteers of CHOC aim to save lives through early detection and comprehensive support programmes for the families affected by cancer, offering psychosocial, emotional and practical support as we augment the different medical fraternities. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is more than a commitment; it's a reflection of our values. Being able to contribute to such a meaningful cause strengthens our resolve to make a positive impact wherever possible. Here's to making a difference, together. #PurplePassion #CSR #FirstCares #CHOCSaniPass

  • We asked Khethiwe Zwane what Women’s Day means to her, and this is what she had to say: “Women’s Day for me is a celebration of being: A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a friend and colleague. It’s a time to be thankful for the opportunities that we have that were not afforded to our mothers. I am thankful that my daughters will have the same opportunities and more. Happy Women’s Day!” #WomensMonth #WomenInLeadership #Empowerment #DiversityInLeadership #PurplePassion

  • Fezile Forbay shares what Women’s Month means to her: “This Women’s Month, we honour the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere, who’s stories of perseverance remind us of the power within each of us to overcome challenges and make a difference. Here’s to the strong women: may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them. And may we always remember these 3 things: There is no limit to what we as women can accomplish. There’s nothing a man can do, that I can’t do better in heels. Strong women don’t have attitude, we have standards." #WomensMonth #WomenInLeadership #Empowerment #DiversityinLeadership #PurplePassion
