📢 November 25 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Day 1 of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.  This day serves as a global call to action:   🌍 Raise awareness about violence against women and girls.   🛑 Prevent and eliminate gender-based violence worldwide.   📢 Advocate for policies and resources to end this pervasive human rights violation.  Despite progress, violence against women and girls remains alarmingly prevalent. Globally, 1 in 3 women—an estimated 736 million—experience physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime.  Weak law enforcement, discriminatory norms, and violence in public spaces, workplaces, and online further hinder progress. A promising week of deep engagement and capacity building with Nigeria, Uganda, DRC and Rwanda implementing partners.  Followed by strategic conversations with Ministry of Youth and Arts, National Youth Council, Rwanda Ministry of Education and Rwanda Education Board as we plan to effectively reach youth within school and out of school with the gold Model, as they transition from being negative recipients of negative norms to becoming proactive agents of social change. The process of collaboration through consultation and deep conversation between Rwanda governent ministries and gold-youth, models how all youth ecosystem actors can together achieve collective impact. Our gold-youth system change vision 2044 is clear: every young African to be empowered to lead the continent’s transformation and make a mark on the global stage. Together, we continue to unlock potential, inspire hope, and drive real change.
