Is finance the biggest hurdle in our energy transition? Not quite. Finance exists for bankable projects. The success of SA’s REIPPPP is proof of that, with R200bn mobilised in private sector investments. So why the bottlenecks? In this Business Day article Richard Doyle and Salomé Bronkhorst explore the key challenges slowing progress – and, more importantly, how we can overcome them. https://lnkd.in/dwcrADrt #COP29 #COP29Azerbaijan #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy

Proud moment: My parents’ farm Nelspoortjie Karoo Guest Farm is now home to the Garob Wind Farm, a project initiated by JUWI South Africa and JUWI Inc. Over the past 20 years, I’ve seen them grow not just their farm but their vision, contributing to the future of renewable energy. Their journey is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and embracing innovation. I’m incredibly proud of how far they’ve come and excited to see the positive impact this has on our community and beyond. A big thank you to JUWI South Africa and JUWI Inc. for making this project possible, and to everyone who has supported my parents and their journey. Renewable energy is the future, and I’m honored to be part of a family contributing to it. Looking forward to seeing what’s next!
