Celebrating National Doctors' Day: Honoring South Africa's Healthcare Heroes 🩺 This past weekend, on 16 November, we at iTOO Special Risks, alongside our partners at EthiQal, celebrated National Doctors’ Day, paying tribute to the incredible doctors whose dedication and compassion make an undeniable impact across South Africa. The theme, ‘The Difference is You’, perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this day, recognizing the profound commitment and expertise that doctors bring to their patients and communities. One of our incredible patients who had Cataract Removal surgery last month as part of our joint 3-day initiative with Grace Vision for #WorldSightDay 👁👁 “I am Thandokazi Dontsa, Next to me is my mother. My mother last saw with her own eyes in 2022. I realized my mother could not see when she tried to pour water into a tub but missed and made a mess on the floor. After realizing what was going on it made me very sad. Her blindness affected my life as well as my job and schooling. Because I was doing both at the time I had no choice but to stop and come home to look after her and to ensure that she was okay and taken care of. Now my mother can see and I never imagined she would be able to see me again. I had lost all hope. I'm now going to go and find a job again knowing she can take care of herself now.
