Today, the President of Rugby Africa, Herbert Mensah, has been elected to serve as representative for Regional Associations on the Executive Board of World Rugby. He is one of the six elected representatives that will join the recently elected World Rugby Chair, Brett Robinson and Chief Executive, Alan Gilpin, on the Executive Board.

Across two days and 36 matches, 12 of Africa's best teams took over Ghana for the 2024 Rugby Africa Women's Sevens Tournament. Congratulations to defending champions South Africa, for claiming the 2024 title at the regional tournament along with Kenya and Uganda who have secured a spot at the 2025 World Rugby Challenger Series. H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, officially welcomed Rugby Africa’s players from 12 nations during the 2024 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Tournament in Accra. With a strong partnership between Rugby Africa and the Government of Ghana, this marks the first-ever Women's Sevens Tournament in West Africa.
