What if the eggs on your plate came with a hidden cost—one you were never meant to see? Corporations represented by the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa are silencing concerned voices, discouraging dialogue and keeping consumers in the dark about harmful practices. Instead of supporting ethical progress, they’re using intimidation tactics and secret industry-funded studies to maintain the status quo. We’re eggs-posing the truth and demanding change. 🐣 Stand with us. Demand transparency & accountability. Fight for ethical food systems. 👉 Share. Speak up. #Eggsposure because transparency matters ✊ Visit www.eggsposure.org

  • Responding to climate change requires more than just policies, it demands dismantling the systems of capitalism and colonialism that continue to exploit our planet and its people. In South Africa’s rural areas, these injustices manifest in extractive industries that deplete resources, displace communities, and deepen inequality. 💡 Did you know? ➡️ Rural communities often bear the brunt of climate disasters, yet receive the least support. ➡️ Industrial agriculture, driven by profit over sustainability, depletes soil and water while small-scale farmers struggle for access to land and resources. ➡️ Just Energy Transition solutions must uplift those most affected—not greenwash harmful industries. We must rethink how we produce, consume, and relate to the natural world, centering people and the planet over profit. 🔥 The fight for climate justice is a fight against systemic injustice. How will you take action? Let’s build a fair and sustainable future together. • Last Friday the RACR team visited the Sandsloot Youth Development (SYD) project in Ga-Masenya village in Mogalakwena municipality, Limpopo. The SYD project is committed to engaging young people in different initiatives that promote environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and social responsibility. They are particularly concerned with climate change causing increased temperatures, irregular rainfall patterns, and prolonged droughts, which impact agricultural productivity, water availability, and the overall socio-economic stability of the community. The project received support with permaculture training and during the field visit the team shared how they have applied their learnings so far, including their successes with intercropping and planting diverse crops, experimenting with natural pest management, and how this has contributed to their ability to provide fresh vegetables to the surrounding community. They also shared the work they have been doing, with the support of the Youth Ambassadors for Climate Change (YACC) programme, engaging schools, and local community spaces to raise awareness around climate change. #RACR #RuralVoices #Agroecology #FoodSecurity #RACR #Limpopo #Permaculture
