I have to say, this morning I'm in an exceptionally good Friday mood—and not just because it’s Friday! Last night, I had the pleasure of presenting to the SAIMechE (South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering), a distinguished professional body representing the interests of mechanical engineers in South Africa. Having the opportunity to describe Kelvion solutions used for hydrogen and carbon capture technologies in front of such an engaged and curious audience was truly a highlight. The thoughtful questions, positive feedback, and lively interaction left me feeling energized and inspired to continue our green tech journey. A big thank you to everyone who made the session so rewarding—what a fantastic way to wrap up the week!
A reminder of our Western Cape Branch is hosting a Technical Talk: Kelvion solutions for hydrogen on 21 November at the Megchem offices in Bellville. Dr. Marcin Karaś, Kelvion Vice President: Global Solutions & Engineering Green Technologies, will discuss “Kelvion solutions for hydrogen". The event is CPD validated. https://lnkd.in/dKu9TnhX Mubenga Carl TSHAMALA #EngineeringGreenTechnologies #Hydrogen

The SAIMechE Council was honored to attend the Western Cape Branch Post Graduate Conference on November 8, 2024. This esteemed annual event brings together students from the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, and Cape Peninsula University of Technology to showcase their research excellence and expertise. Professor Annie Bekker delivered a captivating keynote address, sharing insights from the successful resolution of an engineering challenge on the S.A. Cape Agulhas II research vessel, which played a pivotal role in recovering the condemned Endurance wreckage last seen in 1915. The ensuing presentations took us on a compelling journey, highlighting innovative, meticulously researched, and perceptive projects that underscore South Africa's trove of engineering capacity. SAIMechE takes pride in hosting and supporting events of this caliber, which foster collaboration, facilitate networking, and keep the engineering community informed about the latest research and innovations. The conference culminated in a dinner and dance gala, where the most outstanding research project award was announced. I would like to extend my gratitude to Mubenga Carl TSHAMALA Western Cape Branch Chairman for hosting a successful event and to our industry partners for their continued support. Reflecting back on Monday at the SAIMechE Durban branch Technical Presentation at UKZN Howard College School of Mechanical Engineering on the topic of #Recruitment_in_the_Engineering_Profession by Adrian K. Pillay who also took part in the AI Expo Africa 2024. Where he shared invaluable insights played by AI in the recruitment agency and gave tips on aspiring engineers on how to tailor Cv's including one's marketability on LinkedIn and what I took from this presentation was the emphasis on upskilling as the market is on a constant change in skill demand. This indeed was an eye opening event. Looking forward to more technical talks like this 🚀 🚀 🤝.
