  • Another Successful Golf Day Hosted by the Sea Harvest Foundation Hosts to Benefit Local Communities... In response to the growing needs of the communities where the Sea Harvest Group operates, the Sea Harvest Foundation Not-for-Profit Company (NPC) held its third annual Golf Day at the Langebaan Country Estate on Thursday, 17 October 2024. Eighty-eight enthusiastic golfers, including employees, subsidiaries, and suppliers participated in the 4-ball competition. The Diazville High School Golf team was also invited to practice their golfing skills at the Mashie Golf Course. According to Terence Brown, Board Chairman of the Sea Harvest Foundation, “The Foundation is geared towards socio economic development. Its key focus areas are education and youth development; health and wellness; and community development. The desired outcome is for beneficiaries to gain access to the economy and, thereby, empower themselves, their families and local communities to thrive in all spheres of life, including financial and social.”    While the Sea Harvest Foundation was registered as an NPC and a Public Benefit Organization in 2017, it has been contributing to the welfare of local communities since 1998. Over 220 applications for donations were submitted to the Foundation by individuals and organisations throughout the Western Cape in 2024. A big thank you to all our golfers and the following sponsors who made the Golf Day a huge success: Prins Vervoer; Ladismith Cheese; FFS Refiners; West Point Fishing; West Point Processors; Golden Era; Saldanha Rewinding Service; BM Foods; Ecowize; Camel Rock Trading; Petec; CTP Cartons and Labels; M&G Investments; Byers; Swift International HR; ACDC Express Vredenburg; Cartol; Blue Bay Lodge; Saldanha Bay Hotel; Weskus Mark; Waltons; Office National; Middelvlei; South African Rugby Legends; Southern Cape Brandy; N1 Restaurant and Suppliers; Goldman Engineering; Brimstone Investment Corporation; Lionlife; JHJ Hydraulics; Saldanha Bay Steel; and Bowman Ingredients SA. • Sea Harvest is immensely proud of the success achieved by Shilton Van Wyk, a Sea Harvest Foundation beneficiary, and his teammates at the Paris Olympics. Sea Harvest's journey with Shilton began when his dad, a former Sea Harvest employee, reached out to the Foundation to request support for his son to participate in a rugby tournament when he was at primary school in Saldanha Bay. Over the years, Sea Harvest has formed a strong relationship with Shilton and his parents and it has been a privilege to see him transform and grow from school rugby to an Olympic medal holder. It has been a great privilege to have shared the journey with Shilton and his family, albeit in a small way. Supporting the youth remains a key focus area for the Sea Harvest Foundation. We are committed to empowering youth to become the best version of themselves.  The images show Shilton in action at the Paris Olympics (left) and handing over one of his first rugby jerseys, which he wore as an official South African Sevens Rugby Player / Blitzbok, to Sea Harvest Foundation Chairman, Terence Brown.
