Six steps to achieve cyber resilience for power utilities As the world connects power substations, distribution automation equipment and renewable energy facilities together, the network attack surface is increasing, driving up the risk of cyberattacks. Protecting power utilities from cyberthreats and ensuring compliance to rigorous cybersecurity regulations, such as NERC CIP in North America and NIS2 in Europe, is an essential aspect of modernising the grid. Drawing on more than 20 years of work with utilities, Cisco has identified six key steps to building cyber resilient power grids. <<Read the full article here>> https://lnkd.in/d8DXm8ut #utilities #networks #powergrids #cyberattacks #cybersecurity

Protecting the power grid from cyber threats—malware intrusions, state-sponsored attacks, and cyber security regulations—is critical for utility resiliency. Are you ready? Smart Energy International and Cisco invite you to join an online session to hear grid security experts discuss best practices to protect your grid transmission and distribution infrastructure. Learn from CPFL, one of the largest utilities in Latin America on how they upgraded their substations to monitor their entire grid and comply with the country’s new regulatory framework. Key discussion points: - How to secure transmission and distribution sites using your WAN infrastructure as a foundation for your cybersecurity. - How to assess your security posture and drive compliance by gaining visibility into all your grid assets, - What is “in-depth security” and how to enforce security policies at scale, - How can IT and OT protect the grid together by using security telemetry in the SOC. 📍 Register online: https://lnkd.in/deys52PR 🗓️ 10 December 2024 at 16h00 GMT Speakers Mike Kopczynski, Utility Account Executive, Cisco Marcus Smith, Utilities Solutions Architect | Cisco Severiano Leão Macedo, Account Executive, Cisco #energyandgridmanagement #utilities #transmissionanddistribution #cybersecurity Enlit Europe
