Pressure vs Progress For some people, being able to rest is progress. It is sometimes hard to switch off and when we do, we need to celebrate that and not feel guilt. #DitchThePressure #ProgressOverPerfection #GraceForYourself #StressRelief

Strategies in the City: Empowering Growth with purpose Through Shared Knowledge
About us
I am someone who is always striving to improve and grow. I have big ideas and a strong desire to achieve, but at times, I’ve found myself lacking direction. People have called me many things—both good and bad—but right now, the word that resonates most with me is *resilient*. For a long time, I felt like there were no others like me—not in the "unique snowflake" sense, but more in an isolating way. I’ve often been told I’m different or “weird.” Yet, deep down, I feel a powerful drive to create a better life for myself and to help others along the way. For the first time, it feels like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. So, here’s the plan: I’ve started interviewing individuals who, like me, are determined to make the most of their lives. These people are taking steps to add value, learn, grow, and create the future they desire. I’m seeking a community of like-minded individuals to share insights, stories, and strategies. In our interview, titled *"The ‘Now, Not How’ Mindset: How It Can Kickstart Your Success,"* we focused on the 80/20 rule. Through asking high-quality questions, we uncovered insights that might otherwise take years to learn. One key takeaway: “The worst thing you can do is have only one stream of income.” Her journey into property investing and lessons from her degree were eye-opening. My dream is to empower South Africans to be better versions of themselves. I’m passionate about helping those who want more for themselves by sharing the knowledge I’ve gained. If you’d like to join me for a short interview where I’ll ask thought-provoking questions, I’ll write an article or, if you're comfortable, we can record it and share it on my YouTube channel (currently in the works). This is just the beginning, and I’m eager to include you on my journey. DM me and we will take it from there.

It’s Okay to Pause In an interview with Steve Jobs, he mentioned that he regretted working so much. Smell the roses, and take a look round at what you have. Yes, you have goals and you are driven but don't get lost in it. We are only ever here, right now in the present moment. So make sure you are happy where you are before you push yourself more. #PermissionToPause #PowerOfRest #SlowDownAndBreathe #RestIsProductive

Seasons of Struggle Remember you are not alone in this. There are other people feeling the same way you do. Make sure that we are adding an extra sprinkle of kindness when dealing with each other. #YouAreNotAlone #SeasonalShift #TogetherWeGrow #EmotionalWellness

Check-In Sometimes we forget to see how we are feeling, so focused on everyone else and making sure they are ok. It is important to put your mask on when there is a loss in cabin pressure first so that you are able to help those around you. How are you doing today? #HowAreYouReally #MentalCheckIn #ShareYourFeelings #EmpathyInAction

Let go. I feel as though there is a heaviness in the air with year-end fatigue and the pressures we place on ourselves. This is when we should be putting the most energy into filling our cups. #EmbraceCalm #ReleaseTheWeight #InnerPeace #TakeABreath

He didn’t show up........ Did that mean the interview was off? Absolutely not! Instead, I decided to make the most of it by turning to ChatGPT for my November article. The experience left me both surprised and enlightened. One key insight stood out: the importance of removing ego in the workplace to embrace the neutrality of AI like ChatGPT. Ego often limits collaboration and growth in team environments. While we, as humans, can't entirely eliminate emotions, we can consciously set aside ego to foster better cooperation. This approach may not apply to client-facing or sales roles, but in most office settings, understanding and managing our emotional influences can lead to greater success.

When I set my monthly goals, they are divided into different categories, like Goals, Commitments, and Habits. I will be posting the link to my YouTube channel with a video on how I do this next. For the Commitments, there are only ever allowed to be three, with the fourth always being to "Pour your cup." This can mean a lot of things to different people, but to me, it means letting go of whatever you can from the day. The mistakes, the things you forgot, the things you didn’t do, if you got angry for the wrong reason, or if someone was unfair at work – let go. We’re all multifaceted beings; we project, make mistakes, and sometimes misinterpret. Start each day anew, and try again. Forget what happened but remember the lessons. #DailyReflections #GrowthMindset #Leadership #PersonalDevelopment #LetGoToGrow

Welcome to the official page for Strategies in the City Strategies in the City is all about sharing knowledge because that’s how we can challenge the system. I’ve met so many people who didn’t have the privilege of formal education, and it’s clear: knowledge gives you the power to make informed decisions. It allows you to view the world from new angles and think outside the box. Sometimes, we don’t even know what we don’t know. My goal is to help light up the unexplored maps in our minds—mental models that allow us to gain perspective. Knowledge-sharing isn’t about opinions; it’s about sharing lived experiences, insights, and understandings of the world. I’m excited about this journey, and I’m thrilled to have you join me. Let’s learn, grow, and explore together. #StrategiesInTheCity #KnowledgeSharing #SystemsThinking #GrowthJourney #Leadership #Learning #Perspective #SoftSkills
