About us
The application of structural geology to the understanding and resolution of mineral prospects and deposits, either in exploration or mining. We emphasize problem-solving and lateral thinking in the fields of structural interpretation and economic geology. We are active in numerous open pit and underground mines globally, where we form the interface between complex structural settings and geotechnical analysis and design, with the aid of fully-constrained 3D geomodelling. We undertake structural interpretations for regional exploration and targeting, using weights-of-evidence, model-driven and mineralization system approaches. We also undertake Finite Element analyses to assist in identifying new targets and delineating extensions to existing deposits. The third focus of the company is to assist financial institutions in their technical assessment of projects. We offer training and courses for mine employees and/or any person(s) interested in structural interpretation and lithological modelling, specifically in Leapfrog and Micromine

Congratulations to Heike Fourie on achieving an M.Sc. (Cum Laude) from the Department of Earth Sciences, Stellenbosch University. The thesis is entitled: "Structural Controls, 3D Geometry and the Evolution of Copper Mineralization at Frontier Mine, Zambian Copperbelt". This is no mean feat, considering that it was completed over two years, part-time, alongside consulting duties at TECT Geological Consulting.

I’m happy to share that I’ve completed my Doctor of Philosophy at the University of the Witwatersrand! It's been a long road to get here and I am grateful to all those who have helped me along the way; Judith Kinnaird, Paul Nex, Jens Gutzmer, and my colleagues at the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF) at HZDR deserve special mention. Without them, I would not have been able to successfully present and defend my dissertation (Titled: Geological Setting and Genesis of Vein-hosted Copper Mineralisation at the Onganja Mining District, Namibia).

Thanks to #RGGold and #Kazakhstan for their wonderful hospitality and efficient organization during their recent Forum: "An overview of the most relevant geotechnical solutions in production". This covered pertinent issues in the field of Geotechnical Engineering at mines, and the development of the Geotechnical industry and investment projects in Kazakhstan. It also allowed an exchange of practical experience regarding the development and modernization of production facilities, and permitted participants to present case studies and overviews of technical trends.
