  • 💡 ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is a highly effective assisted reproductive technology (ART) used in situations where conventional IVF (in vitro fertilization) may not be successful or appropriate. The decision to use ICSI depends on several factors related to male fertility, female fertility, and other specific circumstances. ICSI is typically the better option in cases of male factor infertility (low sperm count, motility, or morphology), failed IVF cycles, sperm retrieval issues, or when there are concerns about sperm-egg interaction. The decision should always be made based on individual circumstances, and a fertility specialist will help determine the best course of action based on the specific fertility challenges involved. #ICSI #FertilityTreatment #CAREClinic

  • Day 4 of 💡Insights into Fertility 💡 we talk PGT-A Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A) is an advanced fertility test performed on embryos created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) to assess chromosomal abnormalities. This test can be especially valuable for couples experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss, repeated IVF failures, or those who are of advanced maternal age, where the risk of chromosomal issues increases. What PGT-A Involves 🧫 Embryo Biopsy: A few cells are gently removed from the embryo, typically at the blastocyst stage (day 5 or 6 after fertilization). This process does not harm the embryo or affect its potential for development. 🧬 Genetic Analysis: The sampled cells undergo genetic testing to check for chromosomal abnormalities, such as missing or extra chromosomes (aneuploidy). The embryos are assessed for conditions like Down syndrome (trisomy 21), trisomy 18, trisomy 13, and others.

  • Day 3 of 💡Insights into Fertility 💡 Semen Analysis (for Male Partners) Fertility evaluation is not complete without assessing male partners. A semen analysis measures sperm count, motility (movement), morphology (shape), and overall semen health. These factors are crucial for successful fertilization and pregnancy.

  • Day 2 of ⭐ Insights into Fertility ⭐ we speak about Ultrasound Scans Transvaginal Ultrasound: This provides detailed imaging of the ovaries, uterus, and follicles. It can identify structural issues like fibroids, polyps, ovarian cysts, or endometrial thickness, all of which can affect fertility. Antral Follicle Count (AFC): This ultrasound is done at the start of the cycle to count the visible follicles. A high count indicates a good ovarian reserve, while a lower count may suggest a reduced reserve.

  • 💡 Fertility tests are essential for understanding your reproductive health, especially if you’ve been trying to conceive for a while. This week we run through a ⭐ Insights into Fertility ⭐ series to equip you as you begin your fertility journey. Hormone Tests Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH): FSH is key in egg development and is tested early in the menstrual cycle. Luteinizing Hormone (LH): LH is critical for triggering ovulation. LH levels are typically checked with an ovulation predictor test to confirm if and when ovulation is occurring. Estradiol (E2): Estradiol, a type of estrogen, causes the thickening of the endometrium during the menstrual cycle. Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH): AMH is a direct marker of ovarian reserve and indicates the number of follicles remaining. Progesterone: This hormone rises after ovulation. Testing it in the second half of the cycle can confirm if ovulation occurred. Prolactin: High prolactin levels can interfere with ovulation and are often associated with issues like irregular periods. Thyroid Function Tests (TSH, T3, T4): Thyroid hormones play a significant role in fertility, and imbalances can lead to menstrual irregularities and ovulation issues.

  • 🔬 Understanding Sperm Donation: A Path to Parenthood 👶 Sperm donation is an incredible process where a man donates his sperm to assist individuals or couples who are facing challenges in starting a family. Whether it’s due to male infertility, single women pursuing motherhood, or men with a history of hereditary diseases—using a sperm donor offers hope and new possibilities. 🌱 🔒 Confidentiality First: The process is entirely anonymous and strictly confidential. 🩺 What’s Required to Donate? A semen analysis is conducted to ensure the sample is suitable. Blood tests are also performed to screen for STDs and ensure the health and safety of all involved. 💡 Who Can Donate? Men who meet the following criteria: Above 18 years old In good health Non-smoker Psychophysically sound Sperm donation is not only a medical process but also an opportunity to change lives. If you fit the criteria, you might be the key to helping someone achieve their dream of starting a family! #SpermDonation #FamilyBuilding #Fertility #Parenthood #Health #GivingLife

  • At C.A.R.E, we offer both fertility treatments as well as gynaecological and obstetric services 🤰 "Having your very first baby at the age of 43, one’s pregnancy is classified as high–risk. We were blessed to conceive naturally and regarded our pregnancy as an absolute miracle. The most important decision we needed to make on 15 January 2022 after finding out “We were Pregnant”, was to decide who we would want as our Gynaecologist on this 9-month journey. It was imperative that we were not only comfortable with our gynae, but that we were also 110% certain that this person would be able to make the correct diagnosis, guide us, be totally honest and open and keep me under tight “surveillance” during the pregnancy so that I would be sure we were in the best possible hands. My husband and I agreed in a matter of seconds that we would stay with Dr Anil Ramdeo, the “MOST EXCELLENT Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Reproductive Medicine”. We were initially referred to Dr Ramdeo by another gynae to establish our current fertility status as we had been trying for a baby. Dr. Ramdeo is not only a breath of fresh air with such vast and intense knowledge of almost anything, but he is also caring and takes time to get to know you and your partner. He made us laugh on each and every visit and was super thorough throughout our pregnancy. We always felt secure and safe. His extensive experience in the field is remarkable. My pregnancy was an absolute breeze, and I can say that a big part of that was knowing that Dr Ramdeo had us covered and would make our journey as smooth and as calm as possible. Dr Ramdeo, we miss you and YES!, I am most definitely considering trying for a second baby. Thank you once again, Much care. Gustav, Nichola & Baby Sloane"
