  • Yesterday, we wrapped up our chili production training sessions with the farmers in Maheba. This week’s focus was on agribusiness, record-keeping, and chili production, equipping the farmers with the tools they need to view farming as the thriving business it truly is. The energy and dedication these farmers showed toward learning were inspiring—what an incredible group! The day concluded with Group 2 receiving a comprehensive farmer support package, courtesy of Caritas Czech Republic In Zambia. Each farmer received a 1-hectare pack of chili seeds, 8 liters of fertilizer, and 2 farm record books. We are excited to see what these hardworking farmers will produce as they contribute to 50 hectares of chili production in Maheba!

  • Today, we began our agribusiness and production training with farmers supported by Caritas Czech Republic In Zambia at Maheba Refugee Settlement Camp. The training focused on the fundamentals of agribusiness and farm record keeping. These lessons were designed to prepare the farmers to view farming as a business before offering them Hematon production contracts. In the pictures below, you can see farmers actively adopting record-keeping practices using Hematon tools during the lesson.

  • As part of our commitment to ensuring readily available markets through our services, we, along with our partners, FQM Zambia Trident Foundation Limited, we visited several farmers in Kalumbila District who are contributing to 152 hectares of Cayenne Chili production. It was inspiring to see the progress they’ve made, how effectively they’re using the Hematon farm record books, and their impressive efforts at the nursery stage of production. It’s clear that meaningful learning has taken place, and these farmers are well on their way to boosting their household incomes.

  • Yesterday, in collaboration with our partners, we visited some of our farmers to assess their production levels. A special thank you to Mr. Chipili and our young farmer, Taizya, for warmly welcoming us to their farms. Today, we are in Kalumbila with our partners, FQM Zambia Trident Foundation Limited, visiting some of our farmers who are contributing to the cultivation of 152 hectares of cayenne pepper in the area. It’s always inspiring to see our farmers applying the knowledge gained from our production trainings.
