The Blue Print: Us Vs. Them serves as the first studio album released by South East London, Lewisham’s hazy trap-rap collective Young Adz & Dirtbike LB – D-Block Europe. It is following three acclaimed mixtapes (Street Trauma, PTSD & Home Alone) all in which were released in 2019.
The whopping 29-track album consists of three features only, Stefflon Don, RAYE and Aitch, with the rest being topped off by Young Adz & Dirtbike LB doing what they do best.
The album title “The Blue Print: Us Vs. Them” is Adz and LB embracing, yet defending, their reputation as the originators of the “new-sound” within UK music. The “Us Vs. Them” in the title is an indicator by the duo that they stand alone and above the rest.
In their 2019 interview with Gaffer Magazine, it was said:
DBE have forged ahead on the strength of their drive, determination and ingenuity. So much so, that they pretty much operate as a monopoly. Spearheading a new sound and leading a new legion. Dropping mixtapes without a prior murmur, selling out Alexandra Palace twice within ten minutes, and refining a new vocoder-heavy, real-life wavy rap sound which is delivered with an element of bravery and bravado that remains unique, unfiltered – untouchable.
The first three singles released from the album are: “We Won”, a celebratory party worthy of it’s track title, “Free 22” which pays homage to D-Block Europe member Lil Pino who is currently doing a bid inside of prison, & “UFO” featuring Aitch which is a braggadocios barrage of money, sex & a lot of drugs. They followed this up with “Destiny”, a celebration lap of their fame and achievements.
