A man is reportedly missing his nose after it was ‘bitten off’ during a fight at a golf club dinner.
He was at the Leasowe Golf Course, on the Wirral in Merseyside, when he got into a confrontation with another man around 1.10am on Sunday.
An eyewitness told the Liverpool Echo: ‘There was a gentlemen’s dinner here at the weekend which had trouble and someone’s nose was bitten off.’
Police confirmed two men in their 60s sustained injuries, one of whom suffering a ‘life changing’ facial injury.
But they did not confirm the eyewitness account of a nose being bitten off at the beachfront golf course.
A 45-year-old man, from nearby Meols, was arrested on suspicion of assault, and of assault with intent.
He has been bailed pending further investigation.
