More than 2,200 antisocial behaviour offences were reported to Surrey Police in the Guildford borough in the first eight months of 2019.

The stats, recorded on the Police.uk website, show that in total 2,207 such offences were recorded by Surrey Police across Guildford’s 11 policing neighbourhoods between January 1 and August 31.

Taking into account the borough's current estimated population of 147,889, this means that 14.9 antisocial behaviour offences have been recorded per every 1,000 people.

SurreyLive has analysed the data on the Police.uk website to rank the borough's policing neighbourhoods by the number of antisocial behaviour offences reported.

11. Albury, Shalford, Compton, Holy Trinity, Shere, Gomshall, Peaslake and Farley Green: 118

The area of Guildford with the fewest reported antisocial behaviour offences is Albury, Shalford, Compton, Holy Trinity, Shere, Gomshall, Peaslake and Farley Green.

Its 118 offences mean that just under 15 are being committed per month in the policing neighbourhood.

Within the neighbourhood, which contains a number of villages, the highest number of offences are being committed in the Shalford area

10. Pirbright, Worplesdon, Jacobs Well and Normandy: 120

With two more reports of antisocial behaviour the neighbourhood of Pirbright, Worplesdon, Jacobs Well and Normandy had the second fewest offences.

The neighbourhood ranked safest of all when SurreyLive analysed the number of crimes committed in Guildford in the first six months of 2019, however rises to second safest in terms of antisocial behaviour.

The offences were relatively evenly spread across the neighbourhood with clusters around the villages of Normandy, Fairlands and Pirbright.

9. Stoughton: 121

With 121 reported antisocial behaviour offences in the first eight months of 2019 the neighbourhood of Stoughton had the third least offences.

Despite ranking ninth overall, the neighbourhood only recorded three more offences than the neighbourhood with the least instances of antisocial behaviour.

In the overall ranking of the first six months of 2019, Stoughton ranked seventh, meaning a lower proportion of its reported offences are antisocial behaviour when compared to other Guildford neighbourhoods.

8. Eashing, Hurtmore, Shackleford, Puttenham, Seale and Sands, Ash South and Tongham: 130

Eashing, Hurtmore, Shackleford, Puttenham, Seale and Sands, Ash South and Tongham ranked eighth in terms of the number of antisocial behaviour offences recorded.

The ranking is exactly the same as the neighbourhoods ranking in the total crime round-up.

The area of the neighbourhood with the highest concentration of reported offences is Ash South.

=6. Slyfields and Bellfields: 135

Coming in ranked joint sixth the neighbourhood of Slyfields and Bellfield reported 135 antisocial behaviour offences in the first eight months of the year.

In the six month crime round-up the neighbourhood actually ranked as the second safest in the whole of Guildford. This means a higher proportion of crimes in this area were antisocial behaviour offences.

Nearly half of the neighbourhood’s antisocial behaviour offences in the eight months studied were recorded in July and August (67).

=6. Park Barn and Westborough: 135

Park Barn and Westborough also recorded 135 antisocial behaviour offences giving it a ranking of joint sixth.

This means that nearly 17 antisocial behaviour offences are being committed per month in the neighbourhood.

Offences in the neighbourhood have been spread evenly both throughout the year and geographically.

5. Onslow and University: 140

Starting the top five with 140 antisocial behaviour offences is the neighbourhood of Onslow and University.

In the sixth month round-up the neighbourhood had the second most recorded crimes of any area in Guildford. Its lower ranking means a relatively low proportion of these offences were antisocial behaviour.

The highest amount of offences in the neighbourhood were recorded around the Guildford Park area.

4. Merrow and Burpham: 189

Merrow and Burpham ranks as the neighbourhood with the fourth most antisocial behaviour offences.

There were 49 more offences committed in Merrow and Burpham than in the fifth ranked neighbourhood.

More than 22% of the offences (49) in the neighbourhood over the first eight months of the year were committed in July.

3. Send, Ripley, Wisley, Ockham, The Horsleys, The Clandons and Effingham: 200

The Guildford neighbourhood with the third highest number of antisocial behaviour offences is Send, Ripley, Wisley, Ockham, The Horsleys, The Clandons and Effingham.

The neighbourhood was also ranked third in the ranking of overall crimes in Guildford borough in the first six months of the year.

Geographically the crimes were relatively evenly spread between the villages of Ripley, Effingham, Send and the Horsleys.

2. Ash Vale and Ash Wharf: 208

The neighbourhood of Ash Vale and Ash Wharf ranked as the second worst for reported antisocial behaviour offences in Guildford so far this year.

The area only ranked fourth in terms of total number of crimes, indicating that a higher proportion of crimes in this area were antisocial behaviour.

A large proportion of the crimes were committed around the area of Ash Hill Road in the neighbourhood.

1. Guildford Town: 711

Guildford High Street

Perhaps unsurprisingly the policing neighbourhood of Guildford Town recorded the most antisocial behaviour offences in Guildford in the first eight months of 2019.

However, the neighbourhood’s total of 711 is more than three times as many offences than any other neighbourhood and is more than 32% of the borough's total.

A high proportion of antisocial behaviour offences reported in this neighbourhood were committed around the High Street.
