  • 🎉 Exciting news from AMBER Lab! We're excited to share two recent publications in sustainable construction materials. 1️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗥𝗠𝗖)-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝟯𝗗 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀 This study investigates the potential of cenospheres as a lightweight filler in RMC composites, enhancing both carbonation and thermal insulation. By incorporating cenospheres, we achieved a 16% reduction in density and a 59% reduction in thermal conductivity, paving the way for more sustainable 3D printing applications. Read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/dbmu8e6J (Free access till June 15, 2024) 2️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗣𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗖𝟯-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 This paper explores the durability of LC3 and OPC in environments with high CO2 and chloride, crucial for understanding materials' behavior in harsh conditions. Our findings highlight LC3's superior performance over OPC, offering insights into corrosion behavior under cyclic conditions.
