Beyond production, Portugal's forestry sector is a trailblazer in sustainability. 🌱 Managing over 194,000 hectares of forest fosters biodiversity and actively reduces fire risks. Over the past decade, the sector has invested more than €160 million to reduce emissions, improve water efficiency, and advance sustainable technologies—setting a benchmark for environmental responsibility.
Portuguese paper and pulp products are exported to over 180 markets, with Spain, France, and Germany as primary destinations. 🚀🌐 However, emerging markets like China and India are experiencing unprecedented growth, highlighting Portugal's forestry sector's global appeal and competitiveness.
