As we bid farewell to 2024, we also celebrate the final month of the Diversity Calendar Art Gallery at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. This extraordinary year-long exhibition has been a journey of honoring diverse cultures, events, and celebrations through the powerful lens of art. Before gracing Washington, this inspiring initiative debuted in 2023 at the U.S. Consulate in Dubai, showcasing the remarkable vision of Duaa Abdalla, the artist behind the gallery and a Consulate Dubai DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) Champion. Our DEIA Council was proud to share Duaa's gallery with the State Department, which provided the inspiration for a global initiative for U.S. Embassies and Consulates around to promote similar DEIA focused art initiatives to display at the State Department. The gallery reflects a profound commitment to inclusivity and the celebration of cultural richness, We invite you to checkout the paintings photo collage, offering insights into the inspiration behind the Diversity Calendar and its impact in fostering unity and understanding through creativity. We’re charting new frontiers in exploration, innovation, and discovery in space with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce SpaceNxt Business Mission, the first-ever U.S. space trade delegation to the UAE! 🌍 Our deepest gratitude to the U.S.-UAE Business Council’s tireless leader, Danny Sebright, for bringing together our partners from the UAE Space Agency, Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, UAE Embassy - Washington, DC, the aerospace industry, and academia to welcome the delegation and discuss bilateral collaboration to set the stage for Abu Dhabi Space Week. Ambassador Strong highlighted our shared ambitions in space exploration, emphasizing the UAE’s integral role in the Artemis Accords and collaboration on NASA’s Lunar Gateway program. UAE Space Agency Director General H.E. Salem Al Qubais spoke about deep space exploration, including the Emirates Mars Mission and the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt, and cooperation and knowledge sharing with the United States to build a sustainable and dynamic space relationship.
