After spending December and January in Armenia working and volunteering with multiple organizations working with refugees from Artsakh, I'm proud to have been part of the All for Armenia team in Syunik collecting data and crafting this comprehensive report. From on-the-ground data collection to research and insightful analysis, I'm excited to share our findings and recommendations. Happy Armenian Mother's Day from the border 🏔️ to the Diaspora! 🌎🌍🌏 Make jingalov hats, not war 🫓🌿🇦🇲 While delivering aid, we are always greeted with gifts that display the deep gratitude and boundless generosity of our people. These women are always ready to share, regardless of how little they possess, a quality that is deeply embedded in traditional Armenian culture. Pictured is a woman from Syunik, Armenia, who joyfully shared with us some Jingalov Hats, a flatbread stuffed with various indigenous mountain herbs that is native to both Syunik and Artsakh. 🐣🏡🇦🇲 This weekend, we celebrated Surb Zatik (Holy Easter) with our community at the border village of Kornidzor! Kids painted eggs, created Easter-themed artwork to decorate our KorniTun community home, and visited the village church. We were thrilled to see the smiling faces of the 40 kids who participated in our Easter activities! If so, #AllForArmenia has the perfect opportunity for you! Join our team as a paid #mentalhealth therapist. This is an opportunity to provide much-needed #counseling, coping strategies, and mental health #education to residents of Kornidzor, at the gates of Artsakh, and the forcibly displaced Artsakhtsis currently living there. Housing will be provided at our AFA community home, Kornitun. Applicants should be ready to commit at least three months to this work, and fluency in #Armenian and #English is required. 📦⛑️📦🥫📦🏔️🇦🇲 This past weekend, our Operations Lead Hovhannes drove down to Syunik 📍 to deliver aid to a total of 40 families in Tegh village near the border. The beneficiaries were a mix of locals as well as those forcibly displaced from Artsakh. Through collaboration with P&T NGO ℹ️ and the Tegh municipality 🏫, we were able to identify families defined as high-needs, defined as rural families with 3+ kids, elderly, and people with disabilities. Thank you to P&T NGO and Tegh municipality for also assisting in the distributions and helping us bring much-needed assistance to families in need during "crazy March," 🏔️🌨️ as Syunik is still facing powerful snowstorms.
