5.7x28mm Ammo For Sale
History of 5.7x28mm Ammo
The 5.7x28mm cartridge was introduced in 1991 by Belgian company FN Herstal to replace the 9x19mm cartridge. It was designed to offer level IIIA body armor piercing capabilities at 200 meters.
Thanks to its bullet shape, it also reduces the risk of ricocheting, so shooters and law enforcement agencies can have a little more confidence in this compact, accurate, low-recoil round.
How Does The 5.7x28mm Compare To Other Calibers?
Caliber | Recoil | Pros | Cons |
---|---|---|---|
5.56 NATO | 5.7x28 has less | 5.7x28 has less recoil and excellent close-range round | 5.7x28 is less than ideal for shots over 250 yards, not as many ammo options |
9mm | 5.7x28 has less | 5.7x28 has better at piercing body armor, accuracy, and flatter trajectory | 5.7x28 has fewer ammo options, less stopping power, and more expensive |
.223 Rem | 5.7x28 has less | 5.7x28 has lower recoil | 5.7x28 has fewer ammo options and less accuracy at distances over 250 yards |

Great ammo. High performance. No problems with any aspect. Ammo cycled through gun without any problems whatsoever.

Good ammo. Much cheaper than FN. Ran either or in a magazine and could not detect any differences. I encounter a lot of negative comments on this ammo. Mostly they looked to be repeats of the same comments. Some of the claims were downright preposterous, such as slugs falling out of casings. I don't believe any of those claims. I expect they are people trolling for FN, which is almost a buck a round.

Just purchased the FiveseveN and took it to the range with this ammo. Didn’t have any issues with the first (and only, unfortunately) 150 rounds I ran through it. The accuracy was nowhere near what I’ve heard reviewed...which was the reason I purchased the gun. However the gun isn’t broken in yet so this is a premature review on the ammo The American Eagle 5.7 is the cheapest ammo you can get for the gun so in comparison it’s pretty good. However if the accuracy doesn’t improve after 500 rounds I’m going to trade in the gun

Expensive for putting holes in paper. Preformance, terminal ballistics and reliability are all excellent.

Stick with the brand FN or you’ll be sorry you bought the Federal 5.7. That’s coming from a guy who likes federal ammunition, but not their 5.7. Poor performance!
