🎅 Bringing Austria's Saint Nicholas & Krampus Tradition to Life at OETI! 🎁 In #Austria, Saint Nicholas is celebrated on 6 December, bringing gifts to children, while the fearsome Krampus accompanies him, symbolising punishment for bad behaviour. Together, they balance reward and discipline, visiting schools, families, and kindergartens in a cherished tradition blending joy and folklore. At OETI, the "Nikolauses" delivering gifts were Managing Director Robert Loecker, who humourously seemed to confuse Saint Nicholas with an elf, and Dr. Miriam Scheffelmeier, Head of Marketing & Sales, who brought a baked Nikolaus and biscuits. We didn’t spot Krampus this time—maybe he’ll show up next year! (For the insiders: Krampus Day is actually on 5 December.) 🌿 Nachhaltigkeit trifft Innovation: Insights vom “Textil Dialog des Klimaschutzministeriums” – Ökodesignverordnung rückt Textilien und Schuhe in den Fokus!   Kürzlich hatte das OETI die Gelegenheit, am Textil Dialog des Climate Labs in #Wien teilzunehmen.   Das Climate Lab wurde vom #Österreichischen Klima- und Energiefonds sowie dem Klimaschutzministerium (BMK) (Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie ) gemeinsam mit Wien Energie GmbH, EIT Climate-KIC und Impact Hub Vienna initiiert.  Die Veranstaltung Im Fokus stand die #Ökodesignverordnung und ihre Auswirkungen auf die #Textil- und #Schuhindustrie. OETI freute sich über den inspirierenden Austausch mit Branchenführern wie Lenzing Group, YKK, SALESIANER Gruppe, Fritsch Färberei und DIE UMWELTBERATUNG.   Herausforderungen, die #unsere #Kunden bewegen: - Einheitliche Standards: Klare Vorgaben und Zertifizierungen sichern Wettbewerbsfähigkeit und Nachhaltigkeit. - Transparenz & Digitalisierung: Der Digitale Produktpass (DPP) für Lieferketten-Transparenz sowie digitale Tools zur Datensammlung-, -berechnung und -verarbeitung (z.B. NEW STUDY FINDS MICROPLASTICS ACT AS ‘CARRIERS’ FOR PFAS, INCREASING THEIR MOBILITY AND ECOLOGICAL IMPACT: A ground-breaking study has unveiled concerning insights into the combined effects of two major pollutants in fashion, #microplastics and #PFAS. For the first time ever, researchers have examined how these pollutants interact. The study reveals that microplastics, commonly shed from synthetic clothing, act as carriers for PFAS, amplifying their toxicity in freshwater ecosystems. Using Daphnia magna, a key species in aquatic food webs, the research shows these chemicals disrupt growth, reproduction, and survival, with combined effects observed in more than 40 per cent of cases. In short, the combined toxicity of these pollutants can exceed the sum of their individual impacts. OUR STORY: https://lnkd.in/eY4AHSQE
