Meet the Team 5/6 | Javier Castillo Janschek Javi is the energy source of our team—both literally and figuratively! As our green hydrogen expert, his infectious enthusiasm and warm demeanor create a positive atmosphere where motivation thrives. When he’s not tackling the Vis Moot case, Javi can be found on the football field celebrating victories with his friends (and he will ensure that nothing—not even Theresa Vent—comes between Claimant and his mission to establish green hydrogen in Equatoriana).
-
Meet the Team 4/6 | Tina Andert Tina is the researcher of our team! When it comes to finding the perfect case to support our arguments, Tina always delivers. Her passion for traveling fuels her creativity and offers her a unique, broadened perspective. With her dedication and adventurous mindset, Tina inspires the team to think beyond the ordinary and approach challenges with fresh ideas (such as providing Claimant with creative arguments and every case needed to decisively counter Respondent’s claims).
-
Meet the Team 3/6 | Julia Rauhofer Julia is the heart of our team! As a natural mediator, her kindness and understanding bring people together and ensure everyone feels supported. After traveling the world for a year, Julia brings a unique and diverse perspective to our case. Her positivity and commitment to teamwork create a sense of harmony that the entire team deeply values. (With her at the negotiation table, there wouldn’t even be a dispute between Claimant and Respondent).
-
Meet the Team 2/6 | Svetlana Ruzicic Svetlana is the creative mind of our team! With her expertise, structured approach, and unwavering dedication, she ensures every challenge is met with an innovative legal solution. When she’s not working on the Vis Moot case, Svetlana finds inspiration through Pilates and evenings at the theatre. Her resourcefulness and passion make her an invaluable part of the team. (With someone like her, Claimant’s legal team would not have to question the application of the CISG).
-
Meet the Team 1/6 | Philipp Schauer Philipp is the team’s calming influence! When emotions run high and chaos looms, he brings a sense of balance and focus that (mostly) keeps us grounded. With a passion for sports—cycling being his favorite—, Philipp's calm and composed demeanor inspires confidence, even in the most challenging situations. His steady approach ensures the team moves forward with clarity and keeps sight of its goals (such as to ensure that no further internal communication of Claimant somehow makes its way to Respondent).

After a well-deserved Easter break, we want to reflect on our Vis Moot journey🌟 After six months of continuous work on our memoranda and pleadings, we are proud to have made it (for the first time in our history) to the top eight teams in the world. Overall, we reached the following milestones in the finals: 🏆Honourable Mention for Best Memorandum for Claimant in Hong Kong 🏆Honourable Mention for Best Memorandum for Respondent in Hong Kong 🏆Honourable Mention for Best Memorandum for Respondent in Vienna 🏆Honourable Mention for Fabijan Berket for Best Individual Oralist in Vienna However, the last six months have been so much more than just a competition: being part of the Vis community means making international friends and being surrounded by inspiring and motivated people. A huge thank you to all the teams who accompanied us during this time, and especially to those who have become close friends. It was the privilege of a lifetime to share this stage with all of you! The biggest shout-out, however, must go to our coaches Alina Johanna Holzer, Caroline Strohmeier, Daniel Peter Schmidt, Dominik Loidl, Florian Laher, Jakob Popper, and Tim C. Kirchmayr. It was your tireless support that carried us so far as a team!🙏🏼 We also would like to express our immense gratitude to Pitkowitz & Partners and the Future Wings Private Foundation. Without your financial and professional support, our journeys to Zurich, Düsseldorf, Stockholm, London, Helsinki, Paris and Hong Kong would not have been possible. 🌎 Lara Matuschka, Linda Teichtmeister, Sidonie Ecker, Fabijan Berket, Kristof Pieper & Nikolaus Vetter 🤝

🌟 Honored to share our journey at the IDRC Pre-Moot in London, where 30 fantastic teams converged to showcase their advocacy skills. We are in particular happy that we reached the second place among such remarkable peers! 🥈 🎙️ We are extremely proud of Lara Matuschka, who was recognized as the 3rd best speaker among all the mooties. 🥊 In the semi-final, we had a very intense hearing against Cambridge University. 🏆 The final against Duke University was a round to remember and we congratulate them on their victory! 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us throughout this enriching experience. We are already looking forward to meeting all of you again soon in Hong Kong and Vienna!
