Carbon capture and storage is going to play a key role in supporting heavy industry to decarbonise, including the important mining, processing and manufacturing industries in WA. This morning the WA Government announced that AGIG would receive a $15 million grant to develop a transmission pipeline for an offshore multi-user Carbon Capture and Storage hub in the Pilbara. The pipeline will be key infrastructure to unlocking decarbonisation opportunities for a range of industries in the region, and has the potential to drive more CCS adoption in the state. Our CEO Craig de Laine said “We are excited to work with our large industrial customers to deliver transformational carbon reduction initiatives, and we commend the government for its vision to be a world leader in this technology through the release of its inaugural Carbon Capture and Storage plan today.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g9fmHE9K AGIG media release: https://lnkd.in/gjsxKt5N #CCS #decarbonisation #carboncapture David Michael Roger Cook

What makes a good company? According to GoodCompany it is things such as access to volunteer leave, volunteer budgets, payroll and matched donations, and other pro-social policies that are the hallmarks of a workplace that prioritises giving back. We have again been listed as one of the top 20 businesses in Australia who give back, rising up the ranks to 12th position! This award is a testament to the incredible support our people across the business give. Congratulations to the team, our staff volunteers and the wonderful organisations we partner with who are committed to supporting the communities we work in. #communitypartnerships #goodcompany #giveback

It’s no surprise a happy and safe workplace is a non-negotiable for us. We all want a workplace that understands, promotes, and embraces all groups and their cultures. So, while we don’t do it for the accolades, it’s nice to be recognised. With our DEI Engagement Plan integral to our workplace culture, we are very proud to be announced a finalist in the Department for Energy and Mining, South Australia, 2024 Premier’s Award in the Health, Safety, Inclusion and Wellbeing category! Johanna Birgersson, our Executive General Manager, People Safety and Culture, shared “Our DEI Engagement Plan 2024-2026 highlights AGIG’s commitment to being a leading employer and it recognises the need for meaningful employee connection and care. We aspire to create more reflection and awareness and a workplace where everyone thrives.” #premiersaward #workplaceculture #DEI

Meet our newest recruit (albeit honorary!) - Violet! Violet and her Assistance Dog Instructor Cadet Robbie Bastian from Guide Dogs Australia recently paid a visit to our South Australia office to share progress on Violet's progress in her puppy raising phase. Super cute Violet had us all wrapped around her little furry paw 🐾 Having firsthand access to our community partners, such as Guide Dogs, gives our team a wonderful opportunity to both have a connection to the amazing work done by these organisations, as well as the chance to hear about the work they and their volunteers do. The relationships fostered through our community partnership program are not only beneficial to the NFP we are sponsoring, but also allows our people to foster their own connections and gain deeper insights with community members experiencing a diverse range of life experiences they might not otherwise be exposed to. Happy STEM Day for November 8th! We would like to recognize the thinkers, doers, and dreamers making breakthroughs and inspiring future generations. 🚀🔬 A few of these future creative thinkers, from Catholic College Wodonga attended a community Hydrogen BBQ we held in Wodonga (VIC) after our groundbreaking event for our Hydrogen Park Murray Valley facility last month. The students featured in this clip recently took part in the international H2 Grand Prix held in the USA - we are very proud to have sponsored and mentored the team in their journey as part of our Community Partnerships Program. From coding to chemistry, engineering to environmental science, STEM is where curiosity leads to change. Celebrating the power of knowledge this STEM Day! 🌍💻 #STEMDay #ScienceRocks #FutureIsSTEM

This week Mars embarked on a world first for industry powered by renewable energy right here in Australia. We congratulate Mars Petcare on this amazing initiative and the leadership role they are taking to position Mars Petcare in Wodonga as the first industrial operation in Australia to run on 100% carbon neutral energy. 🌿 We are proud to partner with Mars Petcare in Wodonga to decarbonise their gas use through our Hydrogen Park Murray Valley facility, which started construction earlier this month. Through our partnership, Mars will be the first industrial company to purchase renewable gas certificates, which will displace over 10% of Mars Australia’s total gas consumption – an important step in decarbonising their business’s gas use and a first for Mars around the world. We believe a range of renewable energies will be needed to achieve net zero as quickly as possible - the combination of renewable electricity and renewable gas at this facility is an excellent demonstration of that. Well done Mars! The first sod has been turned on one of Australia’s largest renewable hydrogen projects, starting the energy transition for Albury-Wodonga’s gas network and providing a new source of renewable energy for regional industry, homes and businesses. Hydrogen Park Murray Valley will blend renewable hydrogen into the local network at up to 10% by volume to commercial and industrial gas users, as well as around 40,000 Albury-Wodonga homes and businesses. A 10-megawatt LONGi Hydrogen electrolyser will form the centrepiece of the project, enabling Hydrogen Park Murray Valley to generate around 500 tonnes of renewable hydrogen and eliminate upwards of 3,000 tonnes of emissions each year. We thank the Australian and Victorian Governments for their support of this project, along with our project partners and the Albury-Wodonga community for welcoming this important facility.
