  • When the temperature starts to drop in Melbourne, it can only mean one thing:  it's time for the annual AMT winter luncheon! Held every year with the entire AMT team, this year's luncheon was much needed. After a busy start to the year that saw lots of our team travelling and spread across the country, it was an opportunity to get everyone together for a good catch-up and a few laughs. We also celebrated the retirement of one of our most respected team members, Peter Stevenson, who is hanging up his boots after 36 years at AMT. While it's bittersweet to say goodbye, it was fitting that we were able to do so with the entire company present. There's nothing we love more than getting together to acknowledge the hard work and success of the AMT team. Here's looking forward to the rest of 2024!

  • If maritime engineering is your passion, you'll probably think Rick Hunt has done it all in his career. Rick entered the Navy as a technical apprentice at age 16. He then went on to further study with the Navy's RMIT scheme in undergraduate engineering before working as a Weapons Electrical Engineering Officer (WEEO) in the Fleet, a stint at the Australian Defence Force Academy, and finally to the ANZAC ship project. He joined AMT over 20 years ago as their Combat Systems Manager and now combines that position with the role of Cybersecurity Manager - the perfect fit for a defence-accredited security officer. Rick also plays a key part in the career development of graduates and recruits, using AMT's unique position in Australia's maritime engineering industry to customise training pathways that maximise individual interests and skills.
