Providing micro and nano fabrication facilities for Australia's researchers.
About us
The Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) Queensland Node is a world-class micro and nanofabrication facility providing access to cutting-edge equipment with support from expert staff specialising in microfluidics, organic electronics, biomaterials, novel semiconductor materials and characterisation. Working with clients from public research, industry and early start-ups, we provide professional training, consulting service and facilities to enable our clients to develop their ideas, create prototypes and characterise the outcomes. We have facilities within the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) and the Centre for Organic Photonics & Electronics (COPE) at The University of Queensland and within the Queensland Micro- and Nanotechnology Centre (QMNC) and the Queensland Microtechnology Facility (QMF) at Griffith University, as well as the ability to facilitate access to ANFF sites at 17 other universities around Australia. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit us and share your valuable insights about NNCI, along with its impactful contributions and achievements. There is indeed so much to learn and be inspired by.
Another great visit in Australia with Zaw Htoo (Ethan) Aung and colleagues at the ANFF Queensland node. I also had the opportunity to tour the Microscopy Australia site with its director Roger Wepf.

We are thrilled to announce that The Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) has been awarded significant funding from the Queensland Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (DESI)'s Research Infrastructure Co-investment Fund (RICF). This investment underscores the Queensland Government’s commitment to advancing cutting-edge research and innovation. This funding will enable ANFF-Qld to support world-class, cutting-edge micro- and nanofabrication which is essential to Queensland’s scientific and economic future and plays an important role in the state's long-term vision to remain at the forefront of quantum and advanced technology research in Australia. By enhancing our infrastructure, we can drive forward impactful research and foster a thriving innovation ecosystem that transforms ideas into commercial solutions. A special thanks to the Queensland Government and DESI for their unwavering support. Together, we are paving the way for groundbreaking discoveries and technological advancements that will benefit not only Queensland but the world. #NCRISimpact #ANFFNetwork | The University of Queensland | Griffith University | #innovation #ResearchFunding #QuantumTechnology #RenewableEnergy #RICF https://lnkd.in/gSsp3_YS

Thanks to Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic MP and PsiQuantum's Jeremy O'Brien and Terry Rudolph for taking the time to explore the infrastructure available to the quantum ecosystem at ANFF-Qld and the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology AIBN. Infrastructure is just part of the story that makes these announcements, like the PsiQuantum one today, possible. ANFF-Qld presents a Technical Seminar featuring our Oxford ICP-CVD system installed at our Griffith node. The Oxford Inductively Coupled Plasma Chemical Vapour Deposition (ICPCVD) system at ANFF-Q, Griffith Hub presents cutting-edge technology for thin film deposition. This system can use high-density plasmas to create high-quality dielectric films at low temperatures, enabling thin film deposition for temperature-sensitive substrates and higher uniformity for structures than PECVD. It can deposit SiO2, Si3N4 and SiON, Si and SiC at substrate temperatures as low as 5ºC. The system is user-friendly with fully automatic ICP and integrated recipes.
