ATEC provides skills training, apprenticeship and recruitment services for businesses, existing workers, jobseekers, apprentices, school students and school leavers. Our expertise covers the training of apprentices and specialised training for industry, school students, school leavers and the unemployed. We offer a broad range of qualifications and courses across mechanical, fabrication, engineering production, general construction, electrical, first aid, and health and safety representative areas. ATEC has two industry-focused skills training centres located strategically in the North Western and Southern metropolitan Adelaide. Our Group Training (apprentice hire) division services the whole Adelaide metropolitan area. Our training covers various qualifications and courses across mechanical, fabrication, engineering production, general construction, electrical, business and community service areas. As part of our vibrant Finance team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the financial success of our organisation, all while making a lasting impact on the lives of apprentices and learners. Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to manage the day-to-day finance operations at ATEC. This exciting opportunity involves overseeing financial transactions, managing month-end processing, preparing financial reports, preparing budgets and forecasts and supervising two team members. You’ll also work on system development, continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with the leadership team across the business. Key Responsibilities Supervise and develop two finance staff members. Ensure accurate financial transactions and provide detailed analysis. Oversee month-end processing, financial reporting, and Board reporting. Prepare budgets and update forecasts. Contribute to system improvements and support leadership in financial matters. What We’re Looking For University qualifications in Accounting, Business, or Commerce. CPA/CA qualifications (or close to completion). Strong supervisory and collaborative skills. High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills. Effective communication skills (both verbal and written). Experience with MYOB (or similar accounting software) and advanced Excel. Ability to manage time effectively and work with all levels of the organisation. A positive attitude, sense of humour, and a collaborative approach to work and people. Salary & Benefits 💰 Salary: $90-100k + 11.5% super + annual leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience). 🗓️ Generous Leave Loading - 17.5% 🏅 Employee Perks: Onsite café and free parking.   • Workshop Wednesday Spotlight! This week's Workshop Wednesday may ignite interest as we showcase a fabrication class at ATEC's Ottoway Skills Centre. Today we take you into the engineering workshop where ATEC trainer Yogi is guiding students through intermediate MIG welding techniques. Students are exploring advanced methods, tackling various welding joint positions to meet AS1554 GP standards —Australia’s benchmark for structural steel welding. Third-year apprentice James is training in Fabrication (Trade) seeking feedback on his weld samples. Experienced ATEC trainer Yogi is overseeing the training session, monitoring the progress of weld samples, and providing valuable guidance. Feedback to James indicates that he is making great progress with his MIG welding technique. James is employed at MAAS ENTERPRISES SA, one of ATEC’s host employers based in Salisbury. Students also had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the oxy-acetylene machine, learning how to prep plates for welding by cutting precise weld preps.
