🎙️ Introducing ‘Wired for Good: Conversations for a Better Energy Future’. A podcast that dives into the heart of Australia’s energy transformation! At Ausgrid we’re committed to delivering a faster, fairer, and more affordable energy landscape. So, we’re bringing experts together to tackle the big questions and work together to drive collaboration. Part of making the energy transition as accessible and as fair as possible, is bringing people into the conversation, sharing our expertise and information in a way we can all understand, and be part of the discussion to ultimately shape a better energy future. Hosted by electrification advocate Sarah Aubrey, join us and leading voices from across the industry as they share their insights on how the transition can unlock benefits for everyone. We’ll be tacking questions like ‘What will it take to achieve an energy future that benefits everyone?’ and ‘How can we make this transition both impactful and inclusive?’ Our new Wired for Good podcast provides a platform for meaningful conversations. So together, let’s shape an energy future we can all be proud of. Check out our first episode with Ausgrid’s Alida Jansen van Vuuren and St Vincent de Paul Society Australia's Gavin Dufty, exploring whether NSW’s energy transition could accelerate by focusing on the future potential of distribution networks. Over the last couple of weeks, the 2024 cohort of our Bright Spark Apprentices came together for their End of Year Reconnect days! Taking a break from the tools, our apprentices joined in team activities, reflecting on key learnings and challenges from the year and building their peer network. The day reflected Ausgrid’s core values of respect, honesty and accountability and included a standout visit from the Salvation Army, where our apprentices worked together to donate and create food hampers for their Christmas appeal. A big thank you to everyone involved in planning and delivering these Reconnect days! #teamAusgrid #BrightSpark #apprentices #culture

November saw #TeamAusgrid take action for men's health. Ten of our incredible team members participated in Movember, clocking up 275 km of running, swimming, and walking throughout the month. Their efforts were all about raising awareness for the Movember Foundation and supporting important conversations about men’s health. At Ausgrid we’re passionate about supporting causes that matter. A huge thanks to our team for their dedication and to everyone who supported them along the way! Ausgrid is proud to announce that we have joined the Energy Transitions Commission (ETC), a global coalition of industry leaders, experts, and NGOs working collaboratively to accelerate the world’s transition to net zero by 2050. The ETC is renowned for its evidence-based approach to achieving net-zero emissions while supporting economic growth and bringing together organisations from across the economy to address the key challenges and opportunities of electrification. Joining the ETC reflects our commitment to ensuring a faster, fairer, and more affordable energy transition for all. By engaging with global best practices, we aim to drive innovation here in Australia, but we also look forward to sharing our unique insights, such as our work on community batteries, Energy Storage as a Service (ESaaS) and DSO models, with the global energy community. We look forward to collaborating with the ETC and its members to shape an energy future that benefits everyone. Visit the ETC website. https://lnkd.in/dfM99HB #Ausgrid #ETC #energytransition #netzero

In today's The Australian Financial Review, Ausgrid CEO Marc England and Tim Forcey, author of My Efficient Electric Home, discuss the critical role of distribution networks in enabling a cost-effective and equitable energy transition. Too often, the energy conversation centers around large-scale power generation or behind-the-meter solutions. However, as Marc highlights, the key to unlocking real opportunities lies in the “missing middle”—the distribution networks that connect it all. From scaling community batteries that can save households up to $200 per year, to innovative solutions like kerbside EV charging that use existing infrastructure, we’re committed to leveraging our network to create real, tangible benefits for all Australians. Thank you to the AFR for spotlighting this important conversation and helping drive awareness of how distribution networks can shape a cleaner, fairer energy future.
