Exceptionally pleased to commence the close of our 2nd fund, CASL Fund 2. CASL has doubled the level of support from domestic investors (compared to CASL Fund 1) reflecting the growing confidence of legal finance as an alternate asset that is truly uncorrelated with property, stock markets, bonds or global events. In very uncertain times, it is clear investors are attracted to the risk and return profile delivered by the CASL team over the last 28 years. CASL Fund 2 brings a substantial financial resource to support deserving claimants as they seek compensation and justice from well resourced defendants, to hold them to account through the Courts for their wrongs. I will post more details on CASL Fund 2 shortly but an exciting end to the week, and the beginning of the next chapter for CASL! And, the door is still slightly ajar for those sophisticated investors that want to participate in CASL Fund 2 before it closes for good. But be quick! Last week, Banton Group held their annual offsite retreat for their team. As part of the retreat, they invited several funders to attend a panel session to discuss the trends, challenges and opportunities in the market. CASL very much appreciates the opportunity to share its perspective, thoughts and insights and build relationships across the whole firm.
