It was amazing to witness the successful launch of Schools for Impact by Impact100 Sydney! We at the Community Bank Darling Square support and laud this effort led by co-chairs Nicole Shore and Corinne Kemp, the four social enterprises Bandu Organisation, Jesuit Refugee Service, HARDA (Horn of Africa and fellow partners Community Bank Mosman, Waratah Education Foundation, Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation. #collaborativegiving #community #socialenterprise
Had the wonderful opportunity to attend todays Impact100 Sydney - Schools for Impact event, hosted kindly by Sydney Uni. Through a collective & participatory process - it was heartwarming to see such genuine engagement & interest from this wonderful group of young people on the issues facing some of the most vulnerable Sydneysiders. Our 2024 4 x Finalists each pitched their Impact100Sydney project - this time winning the hearts & minds of over 350 high school students, who then voted on where they believed funds they raised should be invested. Not an easy choice! We are excited to be expanding this new program in 2025 and are seeking interest from more schools to be involved. Please let me know if you want more info or could help facilitate introductions. So grateful to our founding Schools for Impact partners - both Community Bank Darling Square & Mosman branches - for their support & commitment to back this idea, as well as the Waratah Education Foundation & Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation for getting behind the continued expansion of Schools for Impact in 2025! Can’t wait to see what ripple effect this creates & transformational impact it supports. #Love #SydneyCommunity #collectivegiving #philanthropy Corinne Kemp Community Bank Darling Square @Community Bank Mosman Bandu Organisation Jesuit Refugee Service HARDA - Horn of Africa Relief and Development Agency & The Social Outfit Sydney Community Foundation

Still buzzing from last week's Impact100 Sydney Schools for Impact event at the University of Sydney! What an incredible experience watching over 400 high school students engage so thoughtfully and passionately with some of Sydney's most pressing social challenges. The heart of the day was seeing our four 2024 Impact100 Sydney finalists pitch their transformative projects directly to these young minds. Our students didn't just listen – they deeply engaged with the issues facing our most vulnerable Sydneysiders and made careful, considered decisions about where to direct their collectively raised funds. Immense gratitude to Richard Miles and the University of Sydney for providing such a perfect venue for this gathering of young philanthropists. Special thanks to our founding Schools for Impact partners – Community Bank Darling Square and Community Bank Mosman – whose early belief in this vision made it all possible. I'm also deeply grateful to the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation and the Waratah Education Foundation for their investment in expanding this program into 2025. Your support is helping us grow something truly special. To all our participating schools and organisations – you've helped launch something extraordinary. The enthusiasm and genuine engagement I witnessed gives me such hope for the future of community-led philanthropy in Sydney. And to think, we're only just getting started.... Meet Max.👋🏼 Since beginning his career at Bendigo Bank as a Trainee Customer Advisor 4 years ago Max has enjoyed coaching and supporting our customers in their e-banking experience. Max’s role now has a digital focus and says he loves seeing the positive impact our branch teams can have to enable more of our customers to bank safely online. 💻 “I try to bridge the gap between retail and digital - helping to communicate the release of new features to e-banking, share the reason behind the change, answer any questions and importantly take learnings from both teams to improve our digital experience for customers.” Max also works with our partners so we can reach more customers and equip them to navigate digital banking and better protect themselves online.🛡️ “So far, we have run over 200 face-to-face Banking Safely Online education sessions to different community groups. We've also contributed $250,000 over the past three years to Good Things Foundation which has seen 58 of our branches jump on board to support hundreds of customers to learn a new digital skill and gain greater confidence online” adds Max.
