We are excited to share that our Advisory Board member, the Hon. Jaala Pulford was a featured speaker at the AmCham Australia Global Leadership Academy session this week. Jaala, alongside Michael Photios, offered a deep dive into the intricacies of working with government and how to effectively manage crises in today’s complex political landscape. As a member of the Victorian Parliament for 16 years, Jaala had a wealth of insights which were invaluable for the Academy attendees, and we are grateful for her continued contributions both to this event and to the board of Cornerstone Group Australia . #AmChamAustralia #LeadershipInsights #AdvisoryBoard #GovernmentRelations

  • Cornerstone was honoured to host the Hon Anne Ruston, Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care, Shadow Minister for Sport, and Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate, as well as key industry and business leaders, at a dinner on Tuesday evening.   Given her extensive and demanding Parliamentary commitments, we were grateful for the Senator’s time. Our attendees were pleased to be able to engage with the Senator around the Coalition’s policy priorities, strategy in the Senate, and insights around how the Opposition is working to improve the New Aged Care Act.   Cornerstone was proud to host the event and is committed to continuing our engagement with, and support of, these important policy discussions across both sides of the aisle.   If you're interested in learning more about Cornerstone Government Relations, please visit our website at www.cgrp.com.au   #policy #governmentrelations #engagement #auspol #Cornerstone

As the Victorian Government prepares to hand down their budget, we at Cornerstone Government Relations are committed to keeping you informed about the latest developments shaping the state's financial and political landscape.   Premier Jacinta Allan has promised cost-of-living relief for families in light of various economic challenges, including the impacts of the Covid pandemic, international conflicts, inflation, and high interest rates. Despite the daunting net state debt expected to reach $177.8bn by 2027, there's a glimmer of hope with an additional $3.7bn in this year’s GST carve-up, potentially aiding the state in maintaining a narrow surplus.   In her first state budget as premier, Jacinta Allan emphasizes a "sensible and disciplined" approach, prioritizing measures to alleviate cost-of-living pressures. One notable initiative is a $400 bonus for approximately 700,000 Victorian students, reflecting the Government’s prioritisation of alleviating the burden on families.   Some of the key numbers that will effect the state of play:   $10bn blowout of North East Link road project Tax revenue soaring to $36bn this year (45 per cent of tax revenues from property taxes and stamp duty, a figure the state forecast in its last midyear budget update to rise to 46.6 per cent by FY2027) Taxes to jump by average of 5.1 per cent across the forward estimates Gambling tax take to hit annual $2.6bn Insurance tax revenue to grow to $2bn Land transfer duty to fall to $7.5bn but climb 7.9 per cent a year across forward estimates   Stay tuned as we navigate these fiscal landscapes together, providing insights and analysis to empower informed decision-making. For tailored advisory services on government relations and policy matters, trust Cornerstone Government Relations to be your strategic partner. Our office in Victoria stands ready to assist, buttressed by our deep roots and expertise in the state.   For a confidential discussion with our Victorian based board member, The Hon. Jaala Pulford, and our Directors, please message us, call +61 2 9223 4800, or email Jaala.Pulford@cgrp.com.au.   #GovernmentRelations #PolicyInsights #VictoriaBudget #CostOfLiving #InfrastructureInvestment #auspol #vicpol #CornerstoneGovernmentRelations

  • Cornerstone Government Relations was delighted to host business leaders and industry heads at a Boardroom dinner last week featuring the Hon Peter Dutton MP, Leader of the Opposition, along with Melissa McIntosh MP, Member for Lindsay and Shadow Minister for Energy Affordability, Western Sydney.   The event was an excellent opportunity for attendees to hear from the Opposition Leader and gain some valuable insights.
