Federal police have disrupted an alleged scheme to smuggle $400 million worth of liquid methamphetamine hidden in juice bottles into Queensland. The operation involved Canadian officers covertly replacing the drugs while the shipment was en route from Brazil to Queensland. The AFP’s investigation targeted an international organized crime syndicate accused of orchestrating the importation of 1280 liters of liquid methamphetamine concealed in juice bottles. Authorities claim the drugs could have been worth $400 million on the street if converted into crystal meth, equating to four million individual doses. The AFP began its probe after the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) allegedly discovered the drugs in May when the shipment arrived in Vancouver from Brazil.
