DELTA ELECTRICITY AND SAMSUNG EXPLORE A LARGE SCALE BATTERY PROJECT Delta Electricity and Samsung have announced a partnering agreement to develop a large scale battery project on the site of the Vales Point Power Station. Delta Electricity is the owner and operator of the Vales Point Power Station on the NSW Central Coast. Samsung is an internationally respected technology company and is leading the change of a new era in large scale energy storage. The Vales Point site is uniquely positioned to play a significant role in the energy transition beyond the operation of its current coal-fired units. The site has a long and proud history of electricity generation and has the advantage of being located adjacent to existing transmission infrastructure. Australia’s energy mix and landscape is changing significantly and this project will be a key part of this change. The battery will support the energy transition by strengthening the grid, improving energy reliability and helping manage the significant supply volatility created by an energy system dominated by variable renewable energy. Chief Executive of Delta Electricity, Richard Wrightson said ‘The Vales Point Power Station continues to be a key asset in the transitioning energy market by providing essential firming capacity to support the growing integration of renewable energy and ensuring a reliable and secure source of electricity’. ‘The partnering agreement brings together two major players in the energy space to explore the key role that Vales Point can continue to play in ensuring energy security into the future’ Mr Wrightson’ said. A number of options are being considered for both the capacity and duration for the battery project, and it is expected that a Financial Investment Decision will be made in early 2026.

For the past 20 years on Australia Day, Delta has teamed up with Gwandalan Lions Club to host a community breakfast! 🍳 This year, it was estimated that more than 500 people came along to celebrate the event! A huge thank you to Steve for volunteering his time to handle the tongs on behalf of Delta, to Gwandalan Lions Club who spent their morning cooking upwards of 750 bacon, eggs, and sausages, and to Mannering Park Men's Shed for putting on their annual Duck Race. We’re so proud to be an active part of this amazing community, and events like this are just one way we love to give back. Here's to many more years of supporting and connecting with our neighbours! 💙 #CommunityStrong #AustraliaDay #GivingBack
