Our nation-leading generative AI tool, EdChat, was awarded second runner up in the Government and Public Sector category at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance awards in Brunei over the weekend! EdChat is a secure generative AI chatbot custom-built for teaching and learning in partnership with Microsoft and alongside educators. We’re thrilled to see it recognised on an international stage. We look forward to continuing to innovate in creative ways and adding more features that directly support education, because when our children, young people and teachers learn and thrive, so does South Australia! EdChat is currently available for our school staff, with a group of secondary students participating in a trial to inform any future rollouts. Congrats to the team behind EdChat, and thank you to the educators and students who supported its development!

Public education is for every child and young person in every community across our state. 🌻 Our preschools and schools are inclusive spaces where all children and young people are valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. We recognise and embrace the diversity, strengths, and contributions that each child brings to our communities. On this International Day of People with Disability, we reaffirm our commitment to equity and inclusion, ensuring every child has access to the opportunities and support they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Because when our children and young people thrive so does South Australia. #IDPwD #InclusiveEducation
