DPV Health is excited to announce our appointment as the lead agency for the North West Melbourne Aged Care Assessment Alliance, delivering the new Single Assessment System for older people in our communities! The North West Melbourne Aged Care Assessment Alliance (NWMACAA) has been appointed by the Federal Government to provide a Single Assessment System (SAS) for older consumers across northern and western Melbourne. The SAS is an end-to-end system to support older consumers to access home care and residential aged care services in a way in which they have greater control and choice in the services they receive. SAS benefits for consumers will include: - Simplified assessment process with the NWM Assessment Alliance having capability to conduct all types of Aged Care Assessments. - Consistent assessments through new streamlined tools. - Wellness and reablement focus allowing people to regain their confidence, ability and the necessary skills to live as independently as possible. - Services will be delivered by local organisations and people representative of the communities they support. The implementation of the SAS follows reforms into Aged Care Assessment arising from recommendations from the Royal Commission in Aged Care Quality and Safety in 2021. DPV Health CEO, Don Tidbury, says “We are delighted to work with our alliance partners to deliver Single Assessment System for older people across Melbourne’s North and West. Currently older people often have to move between assessment agencies as their needs change, doing their best to navigate an overly complex health system. The new streamlined and single system means older people will get supports quicker and more easily with less confusion and duplication.” The Alliance, led by DPV Health, is a consortium of four community health organisations (DPV Health, IPC Health, Merri Health and Your Community Health) and two local councils (City of Darebin and Merri-bek City Council), who are tasked to implement the new system. On Friday 6th December we held the second annual DPV Health ICT Symposium! Thank you to all the incredible speakers, attendees from sixteen healthcare organisations and those who made this event so impactful. A special thanks to Sharon Hakkennes, Chief Digital Health Officer for the Department of Health, for her inspiring keynote presentation on the department's achievements and the strategic integration initiatives underway to deliver improved data sharing across the whole health sector. Riyaz S. captivated us with insights on 'Cybersecurity Innovation to Protect Healthcare Data', showcasing the benefits of innovative approaches to data security. This included understanding your digital estate, threat intelligence and the latest approach to security validation using a Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) tool. DPV Health CIO Noel Toal presented 'Transforming Healthcare with AI', discussing a strategic approach to AI, the evolution of GenAI from chatbots to autonomous multi-agents and shared some practical AI use cases DPV Health has implemented. Nicholas Ward shared the success stories of 'Solving Healthcare Problems with a CRM', highlighting the challenges encountered, the ongoing enhancements and the significant benefits for healthcare organisations. Muhammad Babar's presentation on 'The Data Value Equation' demonstrated how this concept has been crucial in supporting CRM and AI initiatives, driving their success. He shared the practical ways DPV Health have been addressing the Data Volume, Data Quality and Data Use Case elements to deliver data value for the organisation. The panel discussion topped off the Symposium, discussing 'Opportunities for Digital Transformation of Healthcare', featuring Alan Pritchard (Austin Health), A/ Prof Anthony G. Each of us has the right to feel equal, safe, and respected to make decisions about our bodies, our health and our relationships. Sometimes it can feel challenging to communicate our decisions if we don’t have the language and confidence to talk about consent with others. By practising communicating about consent in everyday situations, we can build a culture of consent where each of us feel confident and comfortable to express our desires, boundaries and decisions, and respect those of others. To build your confidence in talking about consent, take a look at the Consent Can’t Wait resources shared by the Federal Government which seek to develop a shared understanding of consent.
