It was great to meet Allan Joseland and Erin Douglass from RACV at our Werribee Campus Opening! Hester Hornbrook Academy celebrated a milestone on Friday, February 21, officially opening our new Werribee campus. We were honoured to welcome Natalie Suleyman MP - Minister for Youth and Member for St Albans, Victorian State Member for Werribee - John Lister, Joanne Ryan MP - Federal Member for Lalor and other local and state members to the ceremony. The group were given a guided tour of the campus with one of our amazing new students, Riley. Hester Hornbrook Academy' success is due not only to our passionate, dedicated staff and visionary leadership. It is also due to the amazing networks of support that enable our Healing Oriented Program of Education (HOPE) to be realised. At Hester Hornbrook, our young people come first. Support like that provided by The Ross Trust enables our staff to remain responsive to our students' needs by providing them with educational and wellbeing supports so that our programs are relevant and engaging. It was a wonderful official opening for our new Werribee Campus today! One of Hester Hornbrook Academy' courageous new students, Tyler, spoke to our guests, sharing his experience of starting at the school this year. It was a heartening, funny, and honest reflection of the first days at our newest campus. AMAZING!!! I had a morning to remember at Hester Hornbrook Academy today. Their students tested a prototype for a cafe service bot because a busy cafe owner is seeking an out-of-the-box solution to rush hour customer service. Well done guys!

Today, Hester Hornbrook Academy were thrilled to host the University of Melbourne and international delegates from the 2025 International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI) at our Sunshine Campus. The theme for this years conference: "Redefining Education: Purpose and Possibility" The ICSEI conference will explore : 1. Rethinking the purpose of education in a world in transition 2. Connecting the global south and global north through research, policy and practice 3. Education and the fifth industrial revolution: the interface between humans and machines 4. Promoting diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability in transforming education Our Principal, Sally Lasslett spoke to the group about how our school's Healing Oriented Program of Education (HOPE) works to support students to thrive in their education and in life. We are thrilled to be welcoming students for their first day of classes at our brand new Werribee Campus! The campus was a-buzz with new students this morning, who quickly made the most of the beautiful surrounds; a scavenger hunt, playing cards and chatting over a hot lunch (chef's famous baked potatoes! thanks chef 👨🍳 ).It was wonderful to witness friendships being formed, even on day one! The excitement of students and staff was palpable. We can't wait to see these friendships and this new campus blossom.
