We recently traveled to Bundaberg for a site visit at the Bundaberg Basketball Facility and had the pleasure of meeting the incredible team from Bundaberg Basketball. It’s inspiring to see such a passionate basketball community, and we’re excited to work alongside Tango Projects and Jost Architects to develop an improvement plan for the facility.

A great news story this week on Channel 9 News about the Melbourne All Abilities Cricket Association (MAACA) and its volunteers being recognised in Victoria’s Australian of the Year Honours. Well done to Steve Lefebvre for your commitment to the MAACA, and to long serving volunteers Chris Lane and insideEDGE’s great friend Kevin O'Byrne. We thoroughly enjoyed working on the MAACA Strategic Plan and seeing how the program has grown over the years. Keep doing what you’re doing. This week some of the insideEDGE team received a behind the scenes tour of the Home of the Matildas & Victorian State Football Centre. This impressive state of the art facility has the capacity to host international teams, Matilda’s training camps, A-League women’s matches, talent pathway programs and club football. Thanks to Lachlan Cole and Kieran Grealish from Football Victoria for showing us around.

Significant week for AFL Goulburn Murray and AFL North East Border this week with the launch of their Regional Football & Netball Facility Strategies. Congratulations to the AFL - Australian Football League, AFL Victoria, Netball Victoria and the 19 Local Councils on their vision and commitment to facility planning. These strategies will enable the AFL commissions to work closely with their affiliated leagues, councils and state government departments on improving football and netball facilities over the next 10 years.

Great work from the Singleton Council to attract funding from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund and a Severe Weather and Flood grant to rebuild the deteriorated facilities at the Broke Recreation Ground. The site was identified as a short-term priority site in the insideEDGE developed Singleton Community Sports Infrastructure Strategy 2021-2031, with court redevelopment, new lighting, playground upgrade and social/family support amenities all identified for improvement. This is a great outcome for a small community, that also attracts many regular visitors to the region. https://lnkd.in/g_keY4Rt
