About us

We’re a group of passionate and innovative problem solvers making a difference in Papua New Guinea. Our aim is to advance education, health, equality and leadership outcomes for every person in Papua New Guinea. By providing sustainable solutions that work – things like teacher training, health infrastructure, supplies and resources, micro businesses and leadership opportunities – we achieve long term impact. We are a registered charity, a member of the Australian Council for international Development (ACFID), hold full accreditation with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and are endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). They were there for us in our darkest hour… now it’s our turn to lend a hand. www.ktf.ngo

  • Do you have one last present to buy before Christmas? 🎁 Give the gift of education tomorrow to a student from along the Kokoda Track! Thousands of students along the Kokoda Corridor are locked out of traditional schooling due to the remoteness of living conditions, limited spaces available in schools, and limited teachers and resourcing. KTF's Mt Koiari and Kokoda College FODE centres bridges this critical gap and offers these students a second chance to finish high school. Donate a gift from the student wishlist today and transform a life today. ❤️💚 Donate now! https://lnkd.in/gpAZYjNR

  • Sport has the power to break barriers and inspire! 💙 💚 On International Day for Persons with Disabilities this year, the Kicks 4 Kokoda tournament in Gorari celebrated health, diversity, and inclusion. Through the unifying power of sport, K4K fosters connections and breaks down barriers, championing a more inclusive future. Children and young adults from the community flocked to participate in sports demonstrations, delivered by Team PNG HERO athletes! Teams had a go at Soccer, Touch football, cricket and various movement-based activities. This program continues to have a significant impact on the lives of young people in remote communities, fostering inclusion and confidence while inspiring them to dream BIG. As a past K4K participant, Elliona with a physical disability, shared "Whatever backgrounds we come from or status we belong to, no one will stop me from achieving my dreams." She is pictured with multi-sport national para-athlete, Dorna Longbut, a passionate K4K advocate and inspiring sporting role model. Kicks 4 Kokoda, supported by Team Up and delivered in partnership with The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee harnesses the joy of sport to foster confident and inclusive young adults - empowered to drive positive change within their communities. #IDOPWD

  • We learn together, we work together 💜 🧡 Yumi lainim wantaim, yumi wok bung wantaim! 2 out of 3 women in PNG experience Gender-Based Violence or Family and Sexual Violence. For many, it can be seen as an accepted part of their life. It's not. It is against the law and a violation of human rights. GBV & FSV impacts every part of life including health, well-being and productivity - causing profound and long-term harm that prevents people from participating in social, political and economic life. Everyone has the right to live a life free from violence and fear. Everyone has the right to feel protected and safe. Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Silence allows violence and fear to thrive, but change begins when we speak up. Here is how you can raise your voice: 🧡 Share & like this post 🧡 Follow local GBV support organisations like our Project Zero partners @femilipng 🧡 Learn and share the rights and protections for women and children 🧡 Support survivors when they speak up If you or anyone you know has been impacted by violence seek support. • We are proud to hold a helping hand to our Oro Queens! 👑 As part of Project Zero, supported by Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade #ancp, survivors at KTF's Safe House in Oro Province are provided with essential items for a survivor kit, some which are bundled into an 'Oro Queen' bag. Survivors often have to leave precarious and terrifying situations in a rush, as a result, they often leave behind essential items. When they arrive at the Safe House, they receive a starter kit containing care items such as soap, laundry powder, contact numbers for support and empowerment affirmations, packed into a bag created by local artisans. Offering survivors essential comforts and crucial information provides the support they need to take their first steps to start a new life! 🌺 If you or anyone you know has been impacted by violence seek support.
