The LBA is proud to support our staff in their service within Defence. General Manager Mitch Duhig has completed his Army Reserve Officer Commissioning Course, being on leave with Reserves for over 16 weeks in 2023 and 2024. He now starts his journey as a Lieutenant. The LBA was awarded with the “ADF Employer Support Award” for Tasmania and won an honourable mention at the National awards held in Adelaide in October, attended by LBA Secretary Brodie Clark. Launceston Basketball Association is committed to supporting our staff in their defense service! Congratulations Mitch, who recently completed Training Block 4
A great 3 weeks completing Training Block 4 of the Army Reserve Officer Commissioning Course. Great colleagues, great quality training and experienced staff. "Sydney University Regiment concluded another intense and successful Exercise Pozieres as a part of Training Block 4 in the Holsworthy Training Area over the last 3 weeks. Over 12 days, the Officer Cadets have been refining their planning, leadership and command skills through various Platoon-level offensive operations. Despite challenging conditions and relentless wet weather (proving again that morale can be water-soluble), they pushed forward with grit and determination. This is the spirit of mateship and teamwork that defines our Army – proving that even in challenging times, we face it together. To the Officer Cadets who were ready to face this challenge head-on – well done. Your hard work, resilience, and teamwork is shaping you into the leaders of tomorrow."

With Sarah Veale having lead the Tornadoes development program this season, these young women are already destined for success However, developing these young women wouldn't be possible without the support of the Launceston Basketball Association. We are so grateful for their partnership in sponsoring our development players and look forward to continuing the relationship
